Il Molino — Restaurant in London

This café is a gem, both because of the regulars (with their dogs and children) and the staff, who form a clearly friendly community. On the rare occasion when they get a coffee wrong, they change it at once: it is probably impossible to stop them! The service is welcoming and the quality of the panini is excellent.

Two points, however, since I know the proprietor reads this.

Please check the taste of your decaffeinated coffee. I had to have one a month ago and it tasted vile: sour. Perhaps this is intrinsic to the coffee or perhaps people don't order it enough and it gets old. But do check.

Please remove the Remain poster from your window. I respect your enthusiasm but it is not fair to make your customers feel that they are supporting that side of the campaign just by visiting the café. This applies irrespective of what the customer's opinions are. I don't want to announce to the world "I support Remain by having coffee here".

I will not visit again until the poster is removed. I am suffering...

I just had the worst lunch ever I was looking forward to go to “il molino” as I haven’t been there for a while. I just came out from there from my lunch now and I had the worst service EVER. I was so normal and polite - and this new “worker” there had it for me… first she gave me a cold lasanha - I didn’t complain as I could not bother. Then I decided to have a coffee and cake - then I stood up to collect them and she literally passed by me with the cake and put it on my table. When I went to pay the bill, she literally said £14,80 and walked away …. At that moment I asked to talk to the manager .. as I was observing she was very polite with everyone else … but SUPER DUPER TRIPLE RUDE towards me …. And I have no idea why. When talking to the manager he apologised and said “it was her accent” I didn’t notice any accent, apart from her rudeness and I wonder how on Earth people work like that: bad temper and so miserable. I’m certainly not coming back, as there are plenty of other places...

God awful place to go. Food is on display for days on end and cakes covered in flies in the shop window. Staff are intentionally rude when you ask them something and whole place is covered in dust. Unfortunately I had to give x1 star as zero stars are unavailable. Truly hope this place closes down before someone becomes ill or council condemn it for food and hygiene violatons.

UPDATE: loving the reply from this terrible place today. Their clearly NOT denying the hygiene problems and rude staff issues just tell me I'M the nasty person when it's obvious that instead of apologising they tell me not to visit the shop again. Speaks volumes to how this company operates. Please do yourselves a favour, read my other reviews and see how fair I am with other companies then read LL MOLINO replies to...
