I like to think I’m a fair person and do understand that people can have an ‘off’ day, that said, here’s my first and definitely last experience of this cafe. Having recently moved into Pinner, my colleague and I decided to pop in for a coffee, how I wish we hadn’t. On entering, we were met with a stern faced young lady who didn’t smile or even say good morning, she just stood there and waited for me to speak. I asked for a coffee and before I could ask a question, she trotted off to make my coffee, plonked it down and gave me the price?! My colleague and I looked at each other somewhat confused, I paid and we walked out. She full well knew her attitude was wrong yet didn’t care one iota. I’m not sure if this is a chain or a one off family run business but can safely say, this is no way to treat a paying customer. To be totally fair, maybe I was unlucky and therefore doing them a disservice as the service may be excellent the rest of the time? I really hope so as my review is not a matter of opinion, it’s a fact. I always try to support local businesses as opposed to big chains but am flabbergasted at the lack of any warmth or welcoming atmosphere created by this young lady. As a customer, I don’t require “yes Sir,” or overly polite service, I do however expect a smile or a “good morning,” not a “death stare.” We now go to Wenzels next door, where the staff are exemplary, friendly and welcoming. I sincerely wish Amici good luck in the future because if my experience is anything to go by, they’ll...
Read morePart of our order was a blueberry and strawberry smoothie. No other ingredients were listed on the menu board. My son and I watched the staff member make it and the main ingredient was apple juice. Like a lot of apple juice. Then a small bag of frozen blueberries and strawberries were put into the blender. We commented to each other as the smoothie was being made that it seemed like a lot of apple juice to put into a blueberry and strawberry smoothie. Sure enough, the smoothie looked and tasted like an apple slush. It was the colour of apple juice and we couldn’t taste any blueberries or strawberries. I took it back to the counter and told the girl who had made it about the issue and she went and got a woman who was apparently the manager/owner. I told her about the problem and she said, “Yes, it’s because we make it with apple juice”. Now, faced with logic like that I should have realised I would get nowhere with this woman. I said, “Yes, I know that. We watched as it was being made. But it tastes only like apple juice, nothing else”. She said again, “Yes that’s because we make it with apple juice. But we put a small bag of fruit in there”. Again, I told her, yes I know, we watched it as it was being made. She said, “That’s the way it is. You can have it or you can have your money back”. I got our money back and my son decided he would try a vanilla milkshake. It wasn’t very good either. Artificial vanilla and very sweet and syrupy. Avoid. Horrible slushes, I mean smoothies. Horrible...
Read moreAwful customer service and inability to get orders correct - whether ordering from menu or asking for adjustments to dishes. Asked for a pot of strong tea, got a cup of dishwater tea! Ordered a tuna melt ciabatta- asking firstly to please check if there was anything in the tuna like peppers etc Take one- came on bread Take two - came in a ciabatta but loaded with sweet corn and far from melted. Cold tuna and cold grated cheese inside a ciabatta that was hot on the outside So asking for elements from the menu is highly confusing for them. Requested she checked if this was possible and come back to me. Not a problem if they couldn’t do it. 1 muffin - avocado and one poached egg. That’s all. Take 1 - muffin with two poached eggs, smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce - no avo Take 2 - muffin with two poached eggs, sauce on the side - no avo So told them to cancel the order upon which the guy very rudely said that what I wanted was not on the menu and I should have asked first. Hello??? I did ask which I told him and he said he couldn’t do it as it wasn’t on the menu and then cut me off saying he wasn’t going to argue. Holy moly dude...it’s not an argument...I asked!!! Appreciate you may have new staff but train them or get someone more experienced. Don’t accuse your customers for your lack of staff training and your internal communications. Attitude sucks, as did whatever we did get.
Any business...your customers are your livelihood. How about treating them with...
