I don't know really where to start, this was an appalling visit. My mum and I wanted to treat ourselves and were intrigued by the cakes and fancied some French toast for breakfast. We liked the look from outside and thought the price would be worth the treat. We went in and sat down and they took our order straight away, 2 french toast and 2 coffees. Once our order had been quickly taken we looked around and we were sat right next to the pastry case that looks filthy around the sides. There were 2 plates with pastries on the counter next to us, after 10 mins unaccompanied by staff we watched as 3 flies settled in and were walking around on both pastries. Additionally, The pastry case was left open and flies were going in and staying. At this point we were very apprehensive but thought with the time the pastries were sat there they must be being discarded. Our drinks arrived and I made a comment to the waitress that the pastry case should be closed and that I had seen multiple flies going in, it took 3 times of me explaining this for her to shut one side of the case and leave the other open. Then to top it all off our food arrived and there was a black hair sitting blatantly on my white plate. I stated there is a hair on this and they looked and took at away without saying anything. In this time the 2 fly ridden pastries were served to another table and we couldn't believe it. They brought back my french toast and at this point my mum and I were physically repulsed and did not want our food (we had already started our drinks) we explained everything again and how we are not comfortable eating here they offered a discount and we stated we didn't want the food anymore and would like to leave. They argued that this wasn't a normal standard for them. However, I definitely feel this is not the case, as when I said about the pastry case they did not understand what the problem was. Also, we passed 5 different cafe's under the same branch later that day, and all 5 had their pastry cases left open, this tells me it is common practice. We went to pay for our drinks and they said they were not going to charge us after our disappointing experience.

I hope this review can make you look at your standards and improve for future customers.

We left here and went to L'ETO where were instantly relieved as the cleanliness and customer service was amazing. I would highly recommend L'ETO instead if you are looking...

I went to this caffe yesterday with my family for my brother's birthday celebration. My aunt picked this place for desserts. At first I thought, it was a nice place. I like the fancy look of it. The coffee was great. The cakes were served in big portions however they were too sweet and dry. But the worst and most disappointing thing about this place was tge staff. I have experienced bad service from staff before but the one from Caffe Concerto Haymarket was the worst. All the staff look miserable. They don't smile at you at all. They are not pleasing and not welcoming. We felt that we are umwanted in that. We felt that coming there was an inconvinience to them. Particularly this lady who was at the bar, just right in front of the entrance. She's got a nose septum piercing. I called her attention to ask if they provide cake with candle. She was like 10-15 metres away from where we were seated. So I waved at her, she was like "Yes?" in a very very rude way. And she did not move at all. She wants me to come to her instead. She was like, "I am at the bar!" in a very very rude tone. So i thought maybe she is not allowed to leave the bar. So tried to come to her instead, but i was stuck coz i was sitting at the corner and people were seated around me. She rolled her eyes and came to me. She was like "Yes?! YES!?" as if she is rushing me to tell her what I need. I wanted to surprise my brother of the cake with candle so I spoke softly coz my brother was just sitting 1 seat away from me. And she was like "You want it now?? Now!!??" repeatedly. NO patience at all. I said yes. And she came back giving me just one tiny piece of candle. I was like, "where is the cake?" She said, "You have to order for that." in a very very RUDE tone. So i said, "can I have a look of the menu again, please?" She gave me the menu and walked away. Her attitude ruined the night. It was suppose to be a happy night for my brother and my family. Her attitude was completely disgusting. If any of the managers reading these reviews, if you have CCTVs in your shop, watch it on the 29th June 2018 around 20:40 too see for yourself the reaction, facial expressions, gestures and how rude your staff treats...

Dear Customer Service,

What has happened to the standard in Caffe Concerto?

I always include a trip to CC when we have visitors to our London home, it’s a sweet treat and always, previously, an exceptional experience.

This past weekend I had a visitor from Ireland and brought her to the Haymarket CC after dinner in China Town.

The service was excellent, the food outstanding but the visit to the restrooms left me wishing I hadn’t eaten there at all!

I use the disabled toilets due to a hidden disability, the waiter seemed embarrassed as he opened the door, explaining it was the staff room as well.

What it was, was extremely dirty.

I was horrified, if I’d had any physical disability it would not have been possible for me to use the restroom, there was, simply, no space.

Employees belongings, high chairs, assorted garbage and discarded items littered the floor, I was, frankly, disgusted.

The general restroom wasn’t much better, my daughter actually said she’d hold her bladder full until we got to a bar or club rather than using the ladies.

Sent to customer services on the 31st of January, and ignored. Posted on TripAdvisor on the 2nd of February, and ignored.

Is see how this goes, being disabled means your voice is ignored.

Dear CC,

What is going on?

On Saturday we then decided to give it another go, one bad experience shouldn’t keep you from good cake right?

Westfield Stratford outside of the mall we were seated then ignored.

We got up to leave and, only then!, the waitress came over to us. I explained I wasn’t staying as being seated and ignored, even as we waved, caught staffs eye, then continued to wait wasn’t acceptable.

We then went into the Westfield mall caffe. The chocolate gateau was dry to the point of crumbing. The senior staff member, reluctantly changed it only after she too had cut into it to confirm it was dry, she had said it was fresh that day but admitted I may have been given a slice from the previous cake!

So again, what is going on in Caffe Concerto? And when will it be safe to go to the disabled restrooms...

Incredibly disappointing experience dining here. The food looked bland and unappealing, the plates scuffed and worn, and the decor and cake display looked tired and dusty. Taste wise the bruschetta was poor. Just an overpowering taste of garlic, no other flavour was discernable. Mine also had a short hair in it which I discovered as the waiter bought over the drinks. To his credit he took it away immediately and replaced it with a fresh one as well as giving us a free round of drinks. The mains were as bland as they looked. The risotto with goats cheese has just the flavour of the goats cheese itself. The vegetables were limp and without seasoning as far as I could tell. The chicken and mushroom risotto was marginally better and the cocktails were sub par. The customer service was friendly and pleasant and I made no mention of taking anything off the bill so I would give an extra star for this. I do appreciate polite service and a proactive approach to dealing with problems above all else. Also, the food was edible. However, the service was very slow for a place with quite a few empty tables. We ended up getting up to pay the bill because we could not get anyone's attention, despite frequent attempts at signalling. Overall it was just under £90, excluding the free drinks, which is extortionate for the quality. It was much more akin to some sad cafés you find in small towns and villages rather than something in central London. Would not recommend. There are much better places to go in and around the area.

I walked past this place on the way to the theatre and thought ooh look at all the cakes on display. (28-01-22) But I didn't have time to stop and choose something as we were going to the theatre so I thought if they are open afterwards, then I will see if they do cakes to take away. Low and behold, they were open after the theatre but it took a while to be acknowledged yet alone to serve me and get the cake even though it was quiet. I came in and asked if it was possible to get a slice of cake for takeaway, yes the guy said, but then off he went, I thought okay, one lady who looked like the manager was at the till, the guy was seeing to a group paying their bill then there was a lady behind the bar eating cake. After waiting nearly 5 mins, one of the ladies asked if I was ok, I said I had asked her colleague for a cake slice to takeaway. I was nearly on the verge of walking out and changing my mind they were so slow, then when I saw him, he was finally preparing the cake box and slice for takeaway. As it was late, I didn't have my cake slice till the next day. I chose the Honey Cake, it looked really nice, it was pleasant enough - I would say okay but couldn't really taste much. To be honest it wasn't cheap. £4.95 a slice, no sense of urgency to serve and seems like most of the money is to pay for packaging and fancy bag! The place has potential but I couldn't really taste anything.

Long story short, the manager had a weird attitude from the beginning, as I was with my 8 months old baby. He sat us next to the door and I asked him after 1 minute, if he could move us to a different table as it was really cold. The door wasn’t shutting properly. First he said no and then he said yes but we have to leave the pram at the door. Is said is okay, we’ll keep the baby on our lap. After we had dinner, I noticed that they had baby chair 😐 Fine, I was fine… even though I kept the baby on my lap for more than one hour. When the bill came, they charged us one extra starter and because we didn’t said from the beginning that we want two or three courses meal, they put on the bill two course meal and they charged us extra for the cakes. I mean, even if I was saying that I want two course meal and I changed my mind for a 3 course meal, they should make it 3 course meal. I told this to the manager, I think his name is Rashid, he didn’t care at all! He said that this is not possible. I should have known from the begging if I want dessert or not :))) I’ve been going to Cafe Concerto for over 10 years, this never happened. We wanted to pay with Scottish pounds, they refused our money. Very disappointed!
