Chilli Garlic Indian Restaurant & Take Away — Restaurant in London

This used to be an amazing restaurant. The curries were absolutely delicious and cooked fresh and bought to you sizzling in a karahi and you could really smell the garlic and other ingredients. Now, the price has increased but the quality has gone down. The lamb karahi isn't as delicious as it was before and it's no longer served sizzling fresh in a karahi. It's served in a basic white bowl and tastes watery and lacks flavours. It is the first time I've never finished a curry in a restaurant because it just tasted so bland. I'm really disappointed because they used to make amazing lamb karahi and I would recommended to anyone, but unfortunately they've changed the recipe and the quality has gone downhill yet the price has gone up. However, the chicken tikka and lamb tikka starter are very tasty and succulent and full of flavour, and the pilau rice is still very delicious too. Customer service is excellent as well and never had any issues. I am absolutely appalled. NO words. My first experience I noticed the chicken biryani was very dry...I thought I'd give this restaurant another chance but this time, they delivered EXPIRED biryani. The worst part was I ordered food to last me a couple days. I did not realise, I smelt something was off but wasn't sure. I then noticed the rice was SLIMY the following day and I was sick all day and night. STAY AWAY if you want to be safe from food poisoning.

I am a south asian I know how biryani is cooked and what kind of texture/appearance it will have. No biryani I have ever been served or cooked myself smells expired, nor has slimy strings which indicate the food has gone off.

Chilli Garlic is one of my most favoured takeaways in Tower Hamlets no matter what day of the week it is! From the service to the food there is absolutely nothing I can fault! Their prices are very reasonable and the guys working there are very helpful and friendly unlike some places which answer and put the phone straight back down when they hear an angry customer who’s still waiting on their food! They do great offers and also cater for a sitting in service.
