Underwhelming roast on a Sunday - so to book a table you need to pay a £10 deposit when we did, when we arrived we were welcomed and showed to our seat and told once we had made our decision to go to the bar and order and pay and to mention the deposit paid which we did. The food came about 10 minutes later and unfortunately it’s missed the mark but quite a bit. The roast potatoes were anaemic, The veg was clearly just from a bag of mixed veg, the meat was ok (pork and turkey ok but beef was tough)but clearly sliced and portioned at the distribution source. The extra side order of cauliflower cheese was yellow instead of golden and toasty. Microwaved perhaps and didn’t the grill for any Colour and finally no table touching (that’s when the serving staff come back 5 mins later and check all is ok with your meal) so couldn’t get extra gravy without going to the bar. Overall disappointed and won’t be rushing back any time soon.

I like the Coach and Horses, it's of a piece with its locale and adds to it. Ickenham is a 2-pub village, the other one a Spoons that closed and then re-opened, in June 2024, under new ownership. Whatever, the long-established Coach and Horses had competition which would have killed another pub, yet survived. The reasons are two-fold: Decent pub grub and a well-kept range of drinks. An obvious solution? A lot of pubs still don't get it! Whatever, pop in when you're next in Ickenham - it's on the Metropolitan Line and the pub's minutes from the station - and, quite simply, enjoy. PS. There's a model railway at the back of the pub, and it's rather fun!

I attended a wake here on Friday and unfortunately found the service disappointing. I ordered two glasses of wine but was told that no wine glasses were available as they were being washed. I offered to wait, but was informed it could take longer, and the wine was eventually served in large gin glasses instead. Additionally, the sandwiches provided for the group had no labels and the fillings were of very poor quality, as can be seen in the attached photo. Overall, I would not recommend this venue for hosting a gathering or event.

One of those pubs that look nice on the outside, but very disappointing from the moment you order your food.  Chose this particular one out of a cluster of pubs all around the same spot, on a Sunday afternoon. Made a special effort to go there, in support of businesses in the area, despite a shortage of fuel taking place at the time, nationwide (due to the lack of HGV / fuel delivery Drivers).  Went in for a meal with our little boy, and we all ordered the same, i.e. beef burger meals.

We paid at the bar, and the food brought over to our table.  It's a big place, heaving with staff, with lots of waiters and waitresses just milling/sitting around.

There were only a handful of Customers.  Food presentation was poor, the mixed vegetables have seen much better days, and cutlery was dirty with stains on them.

Our boy's burger disappointingly arrived as chicken, which we sensitively pointed out to the same girl who took the order. Despite readily admitting her mistake, her 'no-apology' attitude turned quickly into abrupt sourness & anger, even rejecting our offer to pay for another actual beef burger!  She later brought out a beef 'patty' on its own, which looked so pathetic making even our 5-year-old burst into laughter!  and with an attitude that was rapidly converging into an embarrassingly childish one, she said you will have to pay for another meal if you want a burger !

Management made no appearance at any stage, no intervention, even as we were leaving.

Summary: A poorly managed Coach and Horses, lamentable service (laughable actually), you'll be taking pot luck with your time, money and your effort to get there.  For someone like myself with years of involvement in the leisure and restaurant business, I would not recommend this place.

Added 3rd Nov.21.. and if and when the Owners write to you asking you to reach out for a resolution to your complaint, ignore it.. This is just their way of saving face by showing the Public/Customers they are doing something, but in fact they will just ignore your gesture and your email to them. So do not waste your time or breath on this place nor its non-existing...

Very disappointed. Nice enough looking place, comfortable, but that's about everything good I have to say about it. Unfortunately it appears trendy looking places often lack quality, and that is very true of this place.

Took my parents here for dinner. One guy behind the bar appeared to have just rolled in from a skate park, baseball cap on backwards and converse footwear - very hip I'm sure but not someone I want to order food from thanks. The other was having a good laugh with some friends before eventually finding the time to come and serve us.

Despite the place not being at all busy, they were all out of jacket potato one of us wanted with our meal, and had also run out of the pie my dad wanted. Not the best start.

What eventually came was average at best. Steak was cold. Lamb shank and clearly cheap frozen veg tasted like a microwave meal with luke warm mashed potato.

What really took the biscuit was this. Whilst we waited for the meals there were three forks and one knife which had been put on the table. As the meals were brought to the table my mother politely asked for more cutlery to which the abrupt response was "what dya need more cutlery for?" The tone was incredibly rude, more akin to chastising a child, not responding to a perfectly reasonable request to a lady in her 70s. All three of us interpreted this the same way. Whilst it became clear a steak knife was provided for two of the meals (not that you should have a steak knife with a lamb shank) it came across very brash and could have been answered very differently. We didn't stick around for dessert.

Altogether not impressed for what was not a cheap meal, but tasted as such, and serious room for improvement in customer relations and general professional appearance. I shan't be returning...

First time at this pub for dinner and some drinks, food was absolutely great and would definitely come back to try some more. Sharing platter is convenient for a group of friends with a great selection of choices. Standard pub drinks but really enjoyed trying the new unfiltered Birra Moretti. As for the wine, apparently the menu isn’t always up to date so they didn’t have the Verdejo which was disappointing but the Malbec was fab. Overall, the venue was nice and the garden space was big - a great vibe.

However the biggest issue here is the staff. The runners from the bar were unfriendly and unapproachable, we ordered a few things from the app and they had no idea what table they were going too, despite all tables being numbered. A couple of the ladies behind the bar have genuinely never looked grumpier. One server could clearly see I was waiting to be served and still approached a gentlemen that had come after me - I had to make a point that she had seen me waiting for a while and that I should have been next.. No apology and served me my drinks. On another occasion, another server saw me approach the bar whilst what seemed like her friends were standing in front of her (it looked like they were waiting for some sort of discount from her but the whole thing was awkward) I continued to wait as all the other servers were busy. I was honestly stood there for 5 minutes before she looked at me and asked are you waiting to be served? Seriously? She had seen me approach the bar and she was literally standing there. Her friends eventually paid and she took my order. For a Stonegate pub who claims all employees are received with ‘industry leading training and assistance from experienced pub support teams’ the customer service here is...
