I asked for a burger with no cheese and no sauce. TWO hours later we receive a burger with cheese. Took it back. Then they gave us a burger with sauce!! Asked for a small jug of water as the coffee is always luke warm. Child at the bar bought over hot water in a tall latte glass! Spilt everywhere when trying to pour into the coffee. Table that arrived 45 minutes after us were served before us. I asked if our food was going to take much longer? Child said a few minutes. It came over half an hour later!! I asked to see the manager, he went to the wrong table. I told him that I was being compassionate because the child that took my order told me they were short staffed as thatâs why my order was taking SO long. The manager said they were NOT short staffed. So they were basically lying!!! You couldnât make it up!! Think all the other reviews must be written by family members and friends. This is not the first time Iâve had bad service from here. Food is OK but just OK. It was my Mums Birthday lunch and they knew that! I donât even recall a âsorryâ from the manager. Bet I donât get a response from the owner!! Shockingly bad service!! Spoilt my day! AVOID!!
Responding to your comments Mr Manager, Frankly, I do not appreciate your tone! I find YOU very rude! I am afraid your staff have mislead you. There was NO apology. If they say there was, I didnât hear it. There was no waving of the card in front of the managers face. I was not even standing close to him! I wanted a refund only for my meal because I was too upset to eat it!! If he didnât interrupt me, I could have explained that to him!! Why did your staff not acknowledge that 1 out of the 3 tables had not received their order after such a long length of time and acted upon it. Isnât this what itâs all about? Did they not realise the table that arrived 45 minutes after us were served before us? They did bring their food to them and we were sitting very close by. Whereâs the customer care here? TWO hours for a burgerâŚ.really!!?? I had to approach the bar 6 times to get this sorted! Twice the âvery young manâ behind the bar was chomping on a mouthful of foodâŚ. you know, the one that told me you were short staffed and then the manager told me you werenât! The one that bought over the latte glass of hot water and not a small jug as I asked which meant that the dangerously hot water was split everywhere. I see you didnât choose to reply to that part of my comments. My dog wasnât even offered a water bowl which is what usually happens! Your customer service skills are rubbish. I am a retail manager. I would never dream of speaking to my clients in the manner you have spoken to me. I would certainly make sure my clients leave satisfied and happy. There was no compassion, or attempt to make us feel better whilst there. Some staff training all round is needed I feel. I may just return in the future to see if the service has improved and if it has hasnât, I will be more than happy to write on here again. I really donât want anyone else to endure what weâve had to. I wonât tolerate bad customer service which seems so very difficult to find these days. I certainly wonât tolerate a manager accusing me of things that simply are not true because they have believed what the staff have told them. PS for the publicâŚjust look at the first 3 reviews on Tripadvisor! Wish I had done that before I bookedâŚWonder what the CEO would think of...
Read moreI had initially booked a table for four, but due to changes, only two of us could attend. Despite this, we decided to support a local business rather than cancel. Big mistake.
The service was poor at best âthere simply werenât enough staff, and when we were eventually sat, we never received a specials menu. After we were seated and placed our orders, our starters arrived before our drinks. While this inconvenient, it was only mildly so, and we were willing to look past the disorganised service.
But wait for it⌠Then came the infamous âPRIME BURGERâ, priced at ÂŁ17.25.
Now - naturally, with that price and description, you would expect something impressive, but what arrived was anything but. The burger, as photographed, looked sad â a stale bun, a frozen-looking patty, and very little else. (Ask yourself - would you eat those⌠Wait, what are they? Pickles?!)
I politely asked the waitress if perhaps something was missing, like the cheese or burger sauce that the menu promised. She took it back to the kitchen, but seconds later returned with the exact same burger, unchanged, untouched, stating, âThis is how itâs supposed to be.â (Youâre kidding, right?).
At that point, I explained that I understood it wasnât her fault, but I couldnât eat that. The waitress, rather dismissively, asked, âWhat do you want me to do?â. Reluctantly, I asked if the manager could come over to have a chat about the food.
However, instead of the manager coming to speak with us, the waitress returned to say theyâd take the burger off the bill and suggested I order something else. (Please keep in mind that I didnât even have a menu at this point). It was almost laughable, especially since the restaurant wasnât even busy.
Meanwhile, a cold and lacklustre pizza was sitting across from us, longingly. We eventually shared that pizza, which, like everything else, was disappointingâsparse toppings, soggy crust, and poorly made cocktails to go with it⌠Can you imagine the romance?
Honestly, I am not even scratching the surface of how bad the experience was with this review. It was so poor that it was to the point we couldnât even be annoyed about it, because it was all, from start to finish, comically bad.
In any case, the bill when it (eventually) came was ÂŁ42.52 â even with a discount code. So, to put that in context for you, it was ÂŁ42.52 for the privilege of 45 precious life minutes wasted featuring unjustifiably poor service, three croquettes, five halloumi fries, and a small, soggy, underwhelming pizza.
If you value your time, money, and you expect any kind of dining experience, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.
Please, donât put yourself through it. Be kind to...
Read moreWas all fine until we needed to change our two babies under 1. We looked in the ladies toilets and there was no changing facilities so we quickly changed our babies on a bench at the back in a part of the pub that was closed. Theyâre small clean babies with wet not dirty nappies. I can assure you that plenty of your clients trousers are way dirtier than a little babyâs nappy. A guy called James turned the lights on and my first thought was that he was being helpful. He then came out and told us there was changing facilities (completely unsignposted on the other side of the pub to the other toilets and Iâd have known that because Iâm psychic). He then started shouting at us and making it very clear how disgusted he was at changing a babies nappy and how people eat there (we were changing them on the seat not the table). Considering thereâs dogs all over the place - which is something I prefer not to have where I eat - his reaction was very rude and extreme. Itâs hard enough going out to eat with small children without this kind of nasty attitude. New mums find things stressful because of men like this. Theyâre excluded enough from society because of things like this. If James knew how stressful it is to get out the house dressed and keep a baby fed and changed and entertained enough to have a meal and drink with friends while trying to find places to manage the babies needs heâd have a different attitude. God forbid he saw me breastfeeding he would have died. I suggest all families with young children avoid this vile rude man child James and his place of employment. Not a friendly place and it completely ruined our experience. Even if heâd just had some manners and said it nicely it would have been fine but to shout and try to embarrass two young mums is just horrible and nasty. Once weâd finished he started dramatically wiping down the bench seat we changed them on - the seats look like theyâve never been cleaned in their life. I will not ever go back and support such businesses. This will be copied to all local...
