Do you know why there always are tables expected to be out front in a cafe? For people enjoying a coffee while watching the world go by. Clapham Common is a perfect place for people watching, therefore, it is not short of a good coffee shop here, but miles above most is the COMMON, an Eco-lifestyle store+cafe+bakery in the iconic old pharmacy overlooking Clapham Common. Coffee Shops Each Tube Station For Digital Nomads 35nd Stop: Northern Line-Clapham Common Station @commonclapham Category: Eco-lifestyle store+cafe+bakery+Zero waste station WIFI: Reliable and free to use (a code is needed) Download 10.7Mbps Upload 15.4Mbps PING 8 JITTER 1 Seating: There are mainly two separate zones, the front one is bigger with wooden bar stools, tables, and chairs, which could accommodate about 18-20 seats, while the back one is smaller with a laid-back sofa and 4 seats. And the outdoor seatings area is also available. PS: Good behaved dogs are welcome. Charging Spots: yes. Bathroom: One for Unisex Ambiance: There are many vintage and historic furniture and decor inside from when the building use to be a pharmacy. And you may find some of them are not matched but still looks very natural and comfortable. With the natural fragrancy products, the smell in the store is really nice. Staff Friendliness: Very friendly and fast customer service. Cost: Coffee £2.00-£3.60 Tea £2.30-£3.20 Something Special About The Cafe: They kept the pharmacy cabinet in the shop which makes people feel like traveling times. This shop seeks for sustainability by keeping it plastic-free, palm oil free and organic. They provide organic artisan bakery goods every morning. They have a zero waste station where you could pay by weight for your produce rather than unnecessary packaging.

Lovely cafe atmosphere right on Clapham Common the rustic chemist style decor was excellent, unfortunately this was as good as it got. Ordering was slow with a member of staff who evidently hadn’t had the till properly explained to them but the real shocker in the ordering and payment process which you do at the counter before you have received anything, was that the staff member reached around the till and added a 5 pound service charge herself on the card machine! Considering we seated ourselves, found our own water, and ordered ourselves this appeared almost ludicrous. Such concerns were supported when we waited around 35 minutes for two toasties! The lunch itself was nice enough but nothing as extravagant as the menu described it. The real let down of the experience and what threatens to ruin the relaxed and charming common atmosphere is the large bin and dirty dishes section the staff have in use right next to the tables. Definitely a coffee shop thriving more off looks than substance

A lovely cafe and shop at Clapham Common. Having walked past it over several years, we finally visited the Common for brunch. The cafe was busy but we were lucky to get a table outside without a very long wait. The menu is limited and that's always a good sign of freshness from the kitchen. The coffee was good and the eggs were nice too. The salad dressing was a tad bit sweet. The shop has some cool stuff as well. A nice spot for brunch if one is ever around Clapham Common. Service was very slow but that's because there was few staff for a full cafe.

This is the worst cafe I have been to forever! After such a long time my friend being away from Clapham would have liked a good coffee and sandwich snack, we made our order, 20 or so minutes afterwards the server approached and asked us what had we ordered ; because the order had been lost! we reiterated the order and our coffees were served, 15 mins in and still no sandwich! when food finally arrived, very disappointed to receive an excuse of a sandwich which consisted of 2 small thin slices of soda bread with not very much filling inside, the coffee Expresso was warm and tasted like it had been brewing for a very long time was awful! although to be fair my friend agreed that skinny latte was better! (incidentally, she was offered another one on the house, I considered, but was told by the server I had better not because i didn't like the first one)! The final cost which included service (which was not brilliant perhaps the server needs better training)! was not worth it. There could be room for improvement but I definitely would not recommend this place at present to anyone and therefore cannot award any stars! although I give 1 star because I have to and for the friends latte! I feel absolutely cheated and can see why the neighbouring cafes were busy...

Such a beautiful coffee shop, but unfortunately, it's let down by poor management/staff decisions. One main table is often occupied themselves throughout the whole day, leaving it unavailable for customers. Most of the time, the table is left empty (sometimes for hours) cluttered with paperwork and a laptop. On multiple occasions, I’ve had to leave, and I’ve seen others leave as well and turned away simply because there’s no available seating. When we have asked if we can use the empty table we are told no! The coffee shop also has limited charging points and one of them is under this particular table.

Dear Owner/Managers/staff members Please reconsider this practice. Use the display table at the back or another less prominent space, and let your customers use the tables to work, enjoy their coffee, food and support your business! imagine how much business you lose because of the above.

No customer should have to leave because you’ve decided to use a table for bits of admin work throughout the day. It feels very unwelcoming. I love your shop but can never find a space, a leave knowing a table is empty and you wont allow me or other to use is very sad - not just for me but all the other locals...
