Slab City Pizza — Restaurant in London

I recently started a new job in the Clapham area, and my colleagues highly recommended Slab City. When I arrived, I couldn't decide between a pizza or a sandwich, so I did my usual “Por qué no los dos?”—and I’m so glad I did!

I started with the Focaccia Chicken Royal, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was one of the best sandwiches of my life. I was genuinely shocked at how incredibly tasty it was! The focaccia bread was soft yet crispy, beautifully fresh, and packed with flavor. Every ingredient inside was top-quality—the red onions added the perfect sweet crunch, the smooth avocado balanced it out, and the baby gem lettuce gave it an extra refreshing bite.

Next, I tried the NYC Slice topped with pepperoni, basil, and a drizzle of spicy honey. Absolute perfection! The crust had the ideal thickness, crispy edges, and just the right amount of chew. The toppings were fresh and well-balanced, with the spicy honey adding a delicious twist but not too spicy.

What made my experience even better was my chat with the wonderful owner, Jake. What a gentleman! I’m the most indecisive customer, but he was incredibly patient, friendly, and more than happy to answer all my questions.

I can’t wait to return and try more from their menu. I’m a huge pizza lover, and Jake and his team have truly mastered...

They serve pizza by the slice or you can order a whole pizza. They have different options, including classics like Margherita, pepperoni and vegetarian, as well as their own. I assume you can build your own pizza too. The pizza by the slice is huge! The pizza by the slice is cut from a traditional pizza, circular in shape, It's like new York style slices. The whole pizzas are square in shape and thicker, like a unique spin on deep pan. Both styles of pizza have an amazing crust and base. The staff are really friendly and engaging. The chef is very knowledgeable and passionate. Also, make sure to try the home made dips. One is like a spin on ranch, quite thick with some subtle garlic flavour, the other is normal garlic. The garlic dip is thinner and very garlicky but I loved it, it's definitely my favourite of the two, although both were yummy. They have some very chocolatey and tasty deserts too. I finally entered the place after passing by many times and it wasn’t disappointing! It was one of my lifetime best and most surprising pizza experience. The Detroit-style pizza was unbeknownst to me but god it was so tasty: ingredients were super fresh and worked so well together, the crust is a real delicacy fluffy and exquisite. Like a pizza on a cloud ! As I wake up this morning, I feel like I already want more. What makes the place great, is that this is a local independent business. One of the founders served us directly and he was friendly and so passionate. I am really rooting for them to succeed...
