Coqfighter Croydon — Restaurant in London

We ordered from deliveroo, as usual. This used to be the best chicken burger in London.

Our delivery kept being delayed when the food was ready to collect. Was delayed by about 1h tonight. Obviously when it arrived and came in cold and stale.

I understand it is not your fault that there weren’t any drivers to collect the food for delivery. However, you are ultimately responsible for making sure your customers get their foods at least luke warm (i get it, it’s a delivery).

The approach you should have had was realising that your customer was going to get a mediocre experience and find a solution! It would have been preferable to make the food again so it would be delivered fresh.

Once you solved the above you should then take it with Deliveroo and explain that you had to redo a delivery due to lack of drivers to pick up the order on time.

But no, you instead decided to ignore and let the food be delivered cold anyway… common, I am sure you can do better than this. Your burgers are exceptional but you are letting situations like this impact the quality of your food. You have to be better than this!

After hearing all the raving about these burgers I had to give it a try. I ordered the chicken burger, chicken wings, and fries with dash and smoked paprika salt. I ordered it for delivery.

The packing came in a neat, plain cardboard style box-ish container for each item. The chicken in the burger was covered in a crispy panko-style crumb, had a samba mayo, lettuce and pickled red onion. The burger was good. Crisp crumb of chicken against the cushiony bun :) Just the right amount of mayo too. It is literally chicken - not to confused with the usual redundant dry chicken breast that is often served by many other restaurants. 8/10

The chips for me were over salted and a bit lank. 4/10

The chicken wings were ok. They did have a good texture, however, it tasted rather plain like chicken with salt and a sprinkling of sesame seeds. It did come with a serving of soy sauce and some hot sauce. The sauces were definitely needed to compensate for the lack of flavour. Was bit disappointed with them if I am honest. 4/10

Overall the burger was the best part of the Coqfighter food experience for me. As a foodie I felt the food was ok, nothing...

CAUTION and WARN!! DO NOT and I repeat do not go to this restaurant inside Boxpark as they had several complaints about there chicken not being cooked properly meaning the chicken was raw and other times it was grey and spoiled which has caused many cases of food poisoning reported by customers which you can see from reviews here and on other platforms such as Tripadvisor and Trustpilot!

Myself and my friend went there after work last week Thursday 23rd of November to get some dinner and for the next couple of days after this we fell sick with severe food poisoning which we are only “slowly”starting to recover from now!

We will be reporting this restaurant to local health authorities to ensure appropriate action is taken to hold them accountable. If you are the owner/management reading this you should be disgusted with how many complaints you received from customers about this for years now and you are still risking the lives of people by selling uncooked and spoiled chicken!
