Oodles Wok Croydon — Restaurant in London

I don’t normally write reviews at all but I have to this time. The food itself was not bad in my opinion however it’s the hygiene that I had an issue with. For a starter, there was only one employee present who was taking the orders and also preparing the meals therefore, the service was slow which I did not have an issue with as I was heading home afterwards anyway. The employee (a guy) took cash money from this lady who was present with his bare hands, used the same hands to open the draw and hand her change, touched the work surfaces, his nose and then went on to grab chopped vegetables and put it into the food he was making. Not once did he wash his hands within this period. Another employee came to join him later (a lady) whom did not wash her hands either before starting the shift. She went straight to hand line the meals. I am a bit of a germaphobe but this was terrible. It was probably due to the limited staff but please do better. It was supposed to be dinner but I had none of it when I got home, I tried forcing myself but I just couldn’t bring myself to eat it which was unfortunate as I don’t like to waste...

I’ve tried food from Oodles in a couple other stores of theirs, so when I found out one has opened in Croydon I had to give it a go, & also had the opportunity to let me my mum try it.

Unfortunately it doesn’t compare to their other stores. Bearing in mind it’s advertised as two options one dry & one gravy, they were both dry. There was hardly any gravy at all with the Manchurian chicken & the crispy chicken was far too over coated with sesame seeds. The rice was okay but far too dry because it lacked the gravy to compliment it.

It’s a shame really as I’ve had nothing but 5* experiences from their other stores. This one is just lacking, and I’ve been there on two occasions now, both were underwhelming. Both times the food trays were empty. Don’t get me wrong having food cooked fresh is a benefit for items like rice etc, but the options which are supposed to be in a gravy suffer because they’re dry.

Not recommended at all, reason there prices and meals are very confusing. 10 pound for a box.

They mention box meal (small, medium and large) without coke and fries and they mention mean with coke and fries. I order for a meal with coke and fires through the confusing menu but found out that I order the box accidentally, and when I asked the guy on the counter that I wanted the meal he said "Sorry Sir Order is made" in an Indian style.

Another confusing. Even the large box was the small size and they put all four different items mixed up in the box. In the menu, they show items differently.

So the conclusion is that they are tricky so be careful and confirm the quantity...
