AVOID!!!! I would give zero stars if I could!
My work colleagues and I usually come here once every couple of months and in the past we have enjoyed our meal which is always tasty and pretty big in size for the price. However, we went today and we had the absolute worst experience...
Firstly, we were told their fryer was not working so we couldn't order anything fried. We understood and tried to pick anything else. However, I ordered the cheeseburger which comes with either fries or house salad, so I asked whether I could order any other side given I did not want the salad and couldn't have the fries for obvious reasons. I was told 'no' and that I would be charged extra if I ordered any other side. So you can't offer half of the things on your menu, yet you don't allow costumers to swap a side? Great way to making your customers happy.
I eventually went for the house salad, which was, well, just leaves! No sign of a piece of tomato, or cucumber, or an olive? Just plain salad leaves. Tasty.
When I got my cheeseburger, they had forgotten the bun, so had to return it. When it came back the bun was completely dry and burnt on the inside. How can you burn/over toast a bun? Oh, my burger was also burned. I again returned my meal. My colleagues were also not happy with their meals: one of them ordered pancakes which were ridiculously small compares to other times we have been to this and any other Breakfast Club. In fact, they are known for their delicious and huge fluffy pancakes! Well, none of that.
I then ordered avo on toast with a poached egg and bacon. After waiting more than 20-25 min and when my collagues had all finished their meals, I got mine. Surprisingly, there was no poached egg. I was so angry by then that I just returned it all and asked for the bill.
One of the waiters told us that they had indeed changed the menu to 'make it better'. Really? You mean by reducing the portions and the quality of your meals, but still keeping the same prices.
None of us will be coming back,...
Read moreAlthough the staff very very friendly and attentive, I probably wouldn’t come here again. The place wasn’t very busy, and yet the food took about 15 mins to arrive despite the kitchen being full of chefs and only cooking basic breakfast food. I ordered the full monty breakfast with a cappuccino, my sister ordered the reggie the veggie breakfast with a milkshake. The drinks came first, which were very nice but VERY overpriced and underportioned. The cup for the cappuccino was more like those smaller cups you get in tea sets for kids, not even half the size of a small at Costa, yet costs 2.90. The shake cost over 5 quid, and was barely a half pint. By the time the food arrived my cappuccino was cold, and what arrived was very nice, but not great- and certainly not worth the price. The full monty, priced at 10.50, had a decent amount of food but the black pudding was dry and tasteless, the bacon was distinctly average, tiny amount of beans and a tiny amount of mushrooms. However, the potatoes were gorgeous and the sausage was a really meaty high quality one. The veggie breakfast apparently was pretty good, but again, not worth the price by a long shot. Another thing I noticed was that the vegetarian options were all more expensive than the meat options, giving the impression they’re capitalising on the hipster vibe of the surrounding box park, which is a tad insulting to a vegetarian. Overall, the food was nice enough and the staff are nice, but I won’t go again as it was an average experience for London prices. Save yourself the money and find a nice local joint that won’t extort you for happening to be amongst hipsters, and you’ll most likely have a much...
Read moreBetter than expected! Went for a weekday brunch/treat, didn't need to book but would suggest you check b4 going. The staff are quick and so friendly, full English (6 pieces) and 4 hot drinks cost around £40 for 2 people - not the cheapest but worth it. Something for everyone on the menu which has a good selection. They're happy to change bacon for sausage or hash for mushrooms etc without quibble, and eggs happily cooked to specification. The food was really fresh and very good sized portions. However there is limited availability of basic cold drinks and the choice is a bit over priced, there are no toilets inside so you have to walk a few minutes to the main pop up ones which isn't ideal, and although wheelchair accessible the layout could be tricky to manoeuvre around as the are coloums/pillars inside. Despite being busy its not cramped, and I didnt feel rushed at all. Child friendly and possibly ok to leave buggies in view/outside. Limited paid parking nearby but easily accessible by train, tram, ample buses and a nice walk to/from the town centre. Even in the recent cold blitz it was cosy and warm inside so big coats...
