Ordered butter chicken.. Literally a few stringy pieces in each serving with too much gravy. Not proportionate at all. It was really bland too. You’d expect an Indian dish to have adequate spice levels but their food levels had clearly been tweaked for the western market as another customer said below (glad I’m not the only one who thought this). Yes I complained. The manager has no care for customer service. Very ignorant to say the least. He did not wish to rectify my dissatisfaction and brought in contractual legalities such as”go and raise your complaint via the delivery app you ordered through”. I told him I’m well versed the legalities and to stop hiding behind the loopholes to avoid giving me another dish or a refund. He said he’ll give me 10% off my next order. “Why on earth should I EVER order again?” Please do not waste your money on bad food which came with even worse customer care/service. We are spoilt for amazing Indian food in Hatch End and I would never go back to Coriander! As another 1 star reviewer said below, take your business to Social Dhaba. I think the feeling was mutual as they could not seem to care less either about customer retention. I did threaten to take a public consensus on Pinner Parents Facebook group but writing this review was equally satisfying. You have lost my custom and also the custom of my network. Go and take a course in customer service and learn how to cook a non bland, generous, butter chicken whilst...
Read moreMy friend and I visited Coriander in Hatch End at 9:15pm on Wednesday 19th August 2020. This was our first visit; we were looking to try out a new restaurant in our locality.
The restaurant was full to capacity because of reduced seating due to Covid-19 social distancing implementation and the government’s Covid-19 £10 per person discount during August.
The poppadoms were very small, possibly the smallest I have ever eaten in 30 years of eating at Indian restaurants.
My friend ordered an onion bhaji as a starter, I skipped a starter, but 2 onion bhaji starters arrived.
My main course was Khulna King Prawn. The dish was tasty, but it had only 4 prawns for £15.90!
I wished to have an IPA ale from their menu – not available
Finally when we paid the bill in cash, they automatically added the service charge, and we were due £3 to £4 back in change. They took the receipt, the notes and never returned with the change. The staff had disappeared out the back as we were the last in the restaurant. We let ourselves out.
In summary, the food was of good quality (7.5 / 10) but the quantities and service were poor.
We left disappointed knowing that this will not be on our list of favourite restaurants and one we cannot recommend to our...
Read moreI went to this Indian for the first time with a friend and we are both Indian food enthusiasts. While the decor was inviting the food was less than impressive, samey and quite bland. The whole theatre of zapping the food with a mobile burner on a trolley just as it comes to the table is silly. The keema nan I had was ridiculous with the meat on the outside?? Their chef could do with Gordon Ramsay yelling some skill into them.
The meal cost more than we thought it was worth and overall it was a relief to leave.
Worse still I have never been so uncomfortable and feeling ill the following day as was my friend. Whether the ghee they used was iffy or some of their other ingredients were off, I am never eating...
