Want to share an honest experience using their catering and decorating services. They ruined our wedding day on August 9th.
Things that were an issue:
Not enough communication right up to the wedding with regards to the catering and decorating.
No explanation from decorators, having asked multiple times.
Decorators came late, not on time (2 hours late) despite being specified on the leaflet that they need 3 hours to set up.
Not right info was communicated to staff of the time the decorators should have been at the venue. Which left over 50% of guests helping to accomplish the venue for the day. My guests had to unload the truck for the decorators while in their formal attire. Why are my guests having to help out at the venue? Very unprofessional.
Decoration was not holding up on the backdrop - symbol kept falling despite numerous attempts by our guest to fix as no decorator nor catering help to fix it.
Cutlery were with stains that our cousin had to clean it.
There were supposed to be at least 2 desserts, but only 1 was served and caterers made excuse that there was no bowls. Like what? Caterers were insisting they still brought the second dessert, but was only made known to us when half of the guests have gone home. We were initially advised to be given extra desserts at the start when the deposit was settled, but did not even deliver on promise.
No red carpet runner was put out. As promised on the package.
We had to keep asking for napkins as none were provided by the cutlery in the table - reasoning of there was not enough time and it was buffet style.
Hot beverages were supposed to be provided, but only coffee was served and there was no tea. Leaving guests disappointed. A guest of ours had to buy tea as majority of the guests were requesting for it.
No cake dress table was offered. Lady was unorganised. My sister had to improvise and have it sorted.
No cutlery on table?
& sign for backdrop kept dropping due to cheap design.
Also supposed to be provided with a chandelier, but didn’t get it. Again unfulfilled promise.
My cousin from Canada had to miss the ceremony to assist due to tardiness and not even able to enjoy.
We made our guests to wait around the civil ceremony venue for over an hour after, as the reception area was still undone.
The nerve to ask for a video review after the event. You must be absolutely joking. Never again will I use this service. Imagine paying over £2.6K for compromised and unfulfilled service. Basically have stolen our money with no...
Read moreI planned an ‘RIP to My 20s’ surprise 30th birthday party for my fiancé and I’m really happy how it turned out to be. You will not have an issue with communicating and reaching out to them! Working with them to make your vision happen was a breeze! There was a projector where I was able to play a video of video greetings from his family and friends overseas that couldn’t attend, as well as a video montage. We were also able to play a Kahoot game, so Wi-Fi was accessible. Karaoke was also available with 2x microphones. The food was amazing and everyone enjoyed the surprise!
Aesthetic/Presentation: 5/5
Parking: Eden Grove (free parking on Sunday) Atmosphere: 30x bodies on the top floor. The fan was on but the AC wasn’t working so it was very hot.
Service: Polite and ensured that the surprise was not ruined as soon as we entered the restaurant. It would have been better if we didn’t have to prompt them to refill the unlimited drinks, perhaps for a staff member to remain at the top floor to oversee any issues. Also, the service of the food was a bit slow, it could be because we only had 2x waiters to serve and clear the food on the top floor. So, it was somewhat challenging to keep in schedule of the flow of the programme of the event. But they were kind enough to give us grace for being overdue a little bit to the agreed hours and I am very grateful for this. Lastly, a present was unfortunately left at the restaurant, reached out to them and they updated me as soon as they could. In the end, the present was left at the restaurant. This is evidence that you can trust the staff at DCOCINA. No one took the present home and the present is safely kept, making the birthday celebrant reassured and overall!
I am very happy and grateful to have chosen...
Read moreWe celebrated my aunt’s birthday at D’Cocina, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The food, atmosphere, and service all came together to create a memorable experience.
We ordered the boodle fight, a feast beautifully arranged with rice, chicken inasal, BBQ chicken wings, king prawns, aubergine, mango ensalada, mussels, corn, pork BBQ liempo, and pork BBQ skewers. Every dish was flavourful and perfectly cooked. It was a fantastic variety for everyone at the table. We also had their special palabok and ube cake, which were just as delicious. For a refreshing touch, we had watermelon and pineapple slices on the sides.
For drinks, we had pitchers of cucumber & lime and sago’t gulaman. Both were refreshing, though the cucumber & lime was slightly too sweet for my taste—I would have loved a more pronounced sour note to balance it. The sago’t gulaman had great flavour but could be improved by including actual sago and gulaman for a more authentic experience.
The ambiance was wonderful, with a warm and lively atmosphere perfect for celebrations. Grace, the manager, was incredibly accommodating, and the staff were all kind and attentive, which made our lunch even more enjoyable.
If you want a preview of the dishes we enjoyed, you can check their Instagram or website menu—what you see there is exactly what you get! Overall, the experience was excellent, and I highly recommend D’Cocina. It was truly worth every penny, and we can’t wait to come back for another...
