Dollis Grill — Restaurant in London

My daughters 21st birthday… well I walked in 1 night and asked Tony can I reserve a table for my daughters 21st… He’s honestly such a kind and welcoming man. He listens and makes you feel important. When we arrived the following Friday it was really so sweet & considerate and emotional really… they had ordered a beautiful cake with strawberries and fresh cream, with her name written on the front… What restaurant nowaday’s does something so thoughtful and kind ??

We spent the evening smiling at all the attention to detail and feeling like some princess’s… honestly the food is absolutely delicious.. so fresh, tasty and good quality… The staff, waiters.. are so polite and efficient and also humorous. If you want privacy and to be left to eat in peace they will just serve you promptly and take care of you, but if you want to talk and laugh they give their time, even when they are very busy, and that’s very special to me…

When we asked for the bill they came round my daughter with a live band and sang her happy birthday… we all wanted to cry.. then they held up this beautiful cake they bought and it had a sparkler fire work on the cake… it was truly so wonderful…

I was shocked at how affordable the delicious food was when I got the bill. And also want to add how immaculately clean the bathrooms are. This is very important to me…

Food was good, however the service was disgusting. We called to book a table 1.5 hours before for 4 people and they said it was fine. Once we arrived and told them we had booked for 4 under the name ‘...’ they said no table was booked. The two that were working both looked at each other in confusion as if they had no booking written down. They then decided after a few minutes to give us a table. After our starters we were asked if we could ‘do a favour’ for them, move to another table because they had to prepare a bigger table were we were sat, for their other customers. So we moved. After our main meal we waited for our food to be removed and for the dessert menu. The big group (of 8 people) came in onto the freshly prepared table we were first sat at and I felt as though they were prioritised. The waiter and mangeress greeted these customers with kisses and ignored the rest of us. They must have been regulars but they should not forget about other or new customers. Our empty plates were later removed but we were sat waiting for 20 minutes for someone to offer us the dessert menu or bill (which didn’t end up happening). After growing very frustrated we decided we would not stay for dessert and wanted to leave, so once the waiter was free from the busy table we asked for the bill. The food was nice and well priced but I Won’t be returning back. It also needs decorating inside, it didn’t feel very cosy or...

I have to leave a comment after returning to this favourite local restaurant which I share with my daughter.. we've been visiting this Dollis Grill since it first opened and as time has past the evolution is clear. The team and ownership has changed and so has the food for the better.. more consistency in the kitchen and the menu has been refined.

More importantly the service now compliments the food and the manager (Montrice) supports the floor staff (Elizabeth is lovely avidly. The decor has had an uplift and furniture more suited to attract a broader range of customer who may prefer and expect quality furnishings.. money has been spent.

All we customers of this lovely culinary delight need to do is to support it from time to time and enjoy as you have been doing.. I know I will be with my daughter and the odd guest in tow.

I had a birthday here in the summer and they allowed me to have 20 guests in their back room which was amazing and very private.. falling on the Euro Finals we had an amazing night despite the result.
