I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dosa Bhavan in Sutton, and it was an absolute delight! As a fan of South Indian cuisine, I must say they truly delivered an authentic and delicious experience.
The restaurant ambiance was warm and inviting, creating a comfortable setting for a meal. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure our dining experience was top-notch.
Now, let's talk about the food! The menu offered a wide range of mouthwatering dosas, idlis, vadas, and various other South Indian specialties. I decided to try their masala dosa, and it was perfection - crispy on the outside and filled with flavorful potato masala. It instantly transported me back to the streets of Chennai!
Apart from dosas, their coconut chutney and sambar were equally delightful, enhancing the taste of each dish. They also have a great selection of vegetarian and vegan options, catering to different dietary preferences.
The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable, considering the quality of the food and the dining experience.
Overall, Dosa Bhavan in Sutton is a must-visit for any South Indian cuisine enthusiast. I can't wait to return and explore more dishes from their...
Read moreFinally a decent dosa place in Sutton! Have seen this style of food venue come and go over the last few years. I think these guys will be staying as their food is amazing! It's taking me back to East London (my roots), where dosa joints are ten a penny and always good as there's so much competition so they have to be at the top of their game. Dosa Bhavan has no competition in Sutton, yet they ensure the food is tasty and affordable. We visited twice in 1 week, once as family of four and once as a couple. I've had the Mysore masala dosa and the veg biryani, both were very tasty, just like home cooked food. We've also had the lassi and gulab jaman... all were very good. Seen some reviews complaining about service. We can't fault the service. They have always been attentive and yes, sometimes dishes don't get cleared between courses...so what?! I feel this place is more cantina style... very relaxed... like most places down Green St. I can deal with a few empty plates on the table if the food is that good! Didn't detract from the joy of having a good dosa place on my doorstep! I will be returning in next...
Read moreAll meat dishes are halal and good selection of veg and non-veg South Indian options. I got the masala fish fry (dry) for starters which was lovely along with two Kerala paratha and main of chilli chicken (saucy) for the main, also lovely. The parathas were nice and fluffy. The bill came to £20 which is very reasonable for one person. Another good eating option in Sutton. The restaurant has changed in the last few months where it was called Chi-Ni before offering a much wider Asian fusion cuisine but I didn't eat here before so cannot comment on how good or bad it was then. It has definitely reduced the meat dishes on offer now since called Dosa Bhavan but what is on offer is...
