This was my third time dining at Duck & Waffle, and this visit was by far the most memorable — not just because of the amazing food (which is always a given), but because of how warm, welcoming, and family-friendly the experience was, even with two very young children in tow.
We visited to celebrate my best friend’s mom’s 69th birthday, and it was also a little milestone for us: our first time dining here with the kids — my own 2-year-old and my best friend’s 1-year-old, who was equally curious and anxious about dining in such a big, open space. I was a bit nervous about bringing toddlers to a restaurant that’s so high-end and popular, but to my surprise, the staff could not have been more accommodating.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly and made to feel comfortable. The host and servers were incredibly kind to the kids — offering high chairs right away, giving us extra napkins without asking, and making sure the little ones had enough space and time to settle in. There was zero judgment or rushing, which is such a huge relief for any parent dining out.
Now onto the food which, honestly, is always the star here. We ordered their famous Duck & Waffle (of course!), which was just as incredible as I remembered. The crispy duck confit, the soft golden waffle, the fried duck egg, and that sweet mustard maple syrup. it’s just an unbeatable combination. Every bite felt indulgent and comforting.
We also got to try a few other standouts, and I have to say, the creativity and balance in the menu is on another level. And the best part? We had the absolute pleasure of meeting the Executive Chef, who came by our table and made the birthday celebration feel even more personal and special. You can truly tell that there’s a deep passion behind the dishes and the entire experience.
What really stood out this time, though, was just how inclusive the environment was. Often, fine dining and babies don’t mix but Duck & Waffle is truly an exception. It was such a relief to know that we could still enjoy great food, beautiful views, and celebrate a meaningful occasion without feeling like we were “bothering” anyone by bringing our kids. They made us feel welcome not just tolerated, but genuinely welcome. The atmosphere is vibrant yet elegant, the views are spectacular as always, and the service? Absolutely top-tier. I’m so glad we chose this place to celebrate such a special day. Whether you’re dining with friends, family, or even little ones, I can’t recommend Duck &...
Read moreIt was a very disappointing experience, I understand that it was a late arrival about ten to eleven in the evening, we were told the kitchen was on a break until half past eleven which was absolutely fine by us, we sat at the bar and had a drink. When the time was up to move people to the restaurant the hostesses were going to one by one and inviting them to move to the main dining room, she moved everyone but us, including people who had just arrived, it was already over 50 minutes that we were sitting at the bar, realising that I asked a gentleman who looked like to be a supervisor or something like about our table and being moved to the restaurant, and he said he was going to check when he came back he dropped the bill at the table without asking or saying anything just asking for the payment, I thought it was very strange and quite rude, as when you usually get pre-dinner drinks at any restaurant, it is just transferred to your final bill at the end, after we paid, the hostess still ignored us for another little while, sitting people who had just arrived. When she finally came to us, didn't even greet us and asked have you paid? Because you need to pay before moving to the restaurant. After seeing the receipt she said follow me, didn't ask to take our drinks or put away our jackets... Once we got to the main dining room, she put us at the corner table by the tills and the kitchen door, where we could hear all the conversation of the waiting staff, considering the restaurant was half empty as it was a Tuesday evening. Going to the food we got the dates and sausage appetizer which was so dry and overcooked that it was hard to eat the polenta was ok the duck was good, but the beef doughnut is a disgrace, terrible, the sauce is so sweet that is almost not edible the beignet dough was also sweet the beef was not seasoned. I just ate it because I was starving by them.
Well, overall a terrible experience, apart from the view nothing is worthwhile, not thinking about coming...

I was there earlier today for breakfast by myself. When I reached the 40th floor, a staff at the bar asked me to take a seat at the bar area and told me that his colleague will be attending to me shortly. After a few minutes, a tall buff blonde white man with a tattoo on his neck showed up and immediately gave me a disgusted look. He then shouted at me “Why are you wearing like this?”, “You can’t go in like this!”, “there are family and kids in this place”. I didn’t know if he was joking but soon realised he was not as he kept shouting. To clarify, I was wearing a hoodie, shorts and shoes. I must admit that it is my mistake that I did not check on the dress code before coming over, because I assumed from the pictures online that it was an American diner setting. I later checked the website and it does say smart casual and “we request that our guests avoid wearing tracksuits, flip flops/sliders or beachwear”. I was wearing none of that.
I felt taunted and quite terrified at that moment because he was well built and I’m quite timid in size. I could also tell that his colleagues including the bartender earlier and another girl staff were quite confused as they were also staring at this rude staff and couldn’t tell if he was being serious. The bartender could tell I was visibly shaken, and was very kind to offer me water while the rude staff ‘checked with the manager’ if I could enter the restaurant.
After a while, I was brought to my table. There were no kids in there. There were 2 guys in another table who were wearing shorts. And another guy was wearing a hoodie. So I had absolutely no idea what was wrong with my outfit. Even if my outfit was inappropriate, I felt that the way I was told off is extremely unpleasant and uncalled for.
Apart from this traumatic encounter, all else was great. The view was amazing, the duck and waffles were great, and the service from the other waiters...
