ย ย ย Read moreRacist and extremely rude security!
I asked the security personnel if I needed to take my jacket off as I was passing through security, he did not care to respond and pretended like I was invisible. As I walked through the metal detector beeped since I had my keys on me so the other guard asked me to empty my pockets and so I did. He started making rude gestures and nods so I asked him what was the issue which upset him so much so that he started yelling at me for not emptying my pockets and said "you guys are all like this". I'm Indian and I can only assume he was trying to make a disgusting generalisation. I told him he was being rude which upset him even further and the other security started threatening to not let us in. ย ย ย Read moreMy favourite retreat in London!!! Completely free and you will only need a quick bag check before. Going up is like going through a portal. A quick zip up in the lift and say goodbye to busy, loud London and hello to wonderful 360 degree veiw. The walkie-talkie is taller but it gives a lovely touch of perspective. One side is blocked by buildings but it is so lovely to be surrounded by buildings but above all the noise, you can still see veiws of Tower Bridge, The Gerkin, The Shard, BT Tower, St Paul's Cathedral and the Tower of London. The garden is so well kept to say its free to go up. They have a restraunt for main meals, quite pricey but it is worth it for the floor to ceiling window to look out of. (Could take some food up yourself, there is a pret not far away)
Overall an amazing place and didn't want to leave!
Edit: I've been back more recently and my opinion hasn't changed! They really should charge you to go up! There are staff at the top gardening and security guards and an x-ray and metal detector at the bottom. They could charge ยฃ2/5 and still get lots...
