Pleasantly quiet during my weekday visit. I received a warm welcome from the staff in an equally warm dining area. I appreciated the arrangement with well spaced tables and clean tablecloths. Service was prompt, recieving the menu shortly after settling down and with not much else to do the waitress was very attentive throughout.
I ordered a mixed doner which took a while butI was placated with the usual Turkish sides of bread and salad. I opted for fries over rice, as the new years resolutions hadn't taken effect. The accompanying tzatziki and chilli was served in a really convenient paired bowl which had me fascinated. You can't appreciate switching from chilli to yoghurt in one smooth motion until you've tried it.
The doner was nice although the chef had made the typical mistake of over seasoning the lamb a bit, I guess it's the Turkish way but I was bored of the meat about 2/3rds in. The salad had a really nice vinegary dressing that offset the excessive beetroot juice and contrasted well with the salty meat. The fries were a bit over cooked, I reckon the rice would've been better but the bread was a real winner. Incredibly moreish even compared to the high standard of Turkish bread and a struggle to put down when the food arived. The only thing better than the bread was the freshly squeezed orange juice, I could happily have a meal of just the bread and juice.
Overall I had a nice relaxing time there, I would recommend for quiet dinners during the week or quick takeaway if you're craving Turkish and I would...
Read moreI have ordered from here before and there spagetti was not the best but descent. This time it had bearly no sauce or flavor, only could taste a bunch of oil. Also I want to say that I dont have much of a problem with there chips but with there chips they have something on top almost like chilli flakes...but honestly they dont have any information of that all it says is "chips". We also bought an ice cream and chocolate cake. Now this order was for delivery and i understand the matter of the icecream melting but i would atleast expect the people to try to make sure its not all melted!!! they stuff the icecream right next to the hot food!!! also with the chocolate cake it was nothing compared to what a real chocolate looks like!!! i was expecting just a slice but these people made it round, even though it looked amazing, when you cut through it...it was straight up moose!!! it had the thinnest layer at the bottem of sponge. I would not recommend this at all. This place used to do great food but now they dont. would not...
Read moreI ordered food for the 1st time from here and the food and service was absolutely not acceptable. Firstly I had bits missing from my order. I rang them and they said they will deliver my missing bits within 20 minutes and we waited 1 hour. In the meantime my platter which costed £65 went freezing cold. I literally live 3 minutes away from them so I don't understand what took them so long. The food was so bland, no flavour at all... 90% of the food went into the bin. I'm absolutely shocked about this as the other reviews on here seemed to be so good. If your looking for good Turkish for around that area you have to go to salamis on gants hill and trust me it's fresh food full of flavour, brilliant customer service and its worth every penny you spend in there, its deffo 10/10. The people who answers the phone on Efes were so rude amd they put the phone down on me. I would never recommend this...
