The Eltham Palace Café offers visitors a delightful dining experience within the historic surroundings of Eltham Palace. Situated in the picturesque gardens of the palace, the café provides a tranquil setting to relax and enjoy a variety of refreshments.

Guests can choose from a selection of light bites, sandwiches, salads, and pastries, all made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The menu also includes a range of hot and cold beverages, including tea, coffee, and soft drinks, as well as a selection of wines and beers for those looking to indulge.

Whether you're taking a break from exploring the palace or simply enjoying a leisurely day in the gardens, the Eltham Palace Café offers a charming spot to unwind and soak in the historic atmosphere. With its delicious food, friendly service, and scenic surroundings, it's the perfect place to refuel and recharge during your visit to...

A very poorly organised cafe. Service is very slow and inefficient with a short queue taking up to 20 minutes to serve! The food is definitely not worth the price with cakes being the biggest disappointment. We had lunch and then came back for more food in the afternoon when it started raining unexpectedly. Cafe was overflowing with a big chunk of it closed off. When we asked to sit there or at least to get a table out, we were sent to sit outside in the rain with my elderly relative! I explained the situation to the staff but there was neither sympathy nor compassion. Treating paying customers like nuisance is definitely not the right way forward. Great house to visit but the cafe and the service from grumpy staff not trained in customer service being the biggest...

An interesting art deco modification of an old palace. Worth a visit if you enjoy the style. The place is in nice condition although has the feel of a rather down at heel hotel/ cinema, some art deco does not hold age well and there are better examples of the style. It has a corporate feel and was clearly built for entertaining, even down to the pay phone for guests! The gardens are maintained but not not very interesting, the lawns are cut but the borders are largely given over to clipped laurels. There are also rose gardens which are ok. Not sure if it is because of Covid but a lot of the house was not accessible. The site is well maintained but has clearly had some hard times...

Lovely venue with a large dining area in a greenhouse, not quite how it sounds as there's plenty of ventilation and shade so it's pleasant even on a warm sunny day. Outside seating also available next to a very large, we'll designed children's play area. The food and drinks weren't particularly special given the prices. There are ceramic garden pots and a small selection of plants on sale here along with the usual English Heritage gift shop that seems a diverse range of gifts and mementos. The cafe is good for light refreshments while visiting the Palace, but I wouldn't come here specifically to eat.

Booked through English Heritage as this was a cheaper option depending if you are going to vist a number English Heritage sites you get given a free parking stick on all parking which gives you free parking on these site Going back to my vist Was a 1940s theme Which you had actors whom you could interact with giving you a fantastic experience The house & grounds are simply stunning place to vist with lots of history Both fun for all ages I think the 1940s theme is only for a short time but check if you are going but it's still worth the vist great day ou

The gluten free (GF) cakes are all on a separate table. They're not marked as GF butvi think that means they sell more to non-ceoliacs or gluten intolerant customers because the choice is fantastic! There were 3 types of large cake including Victoria sponge, Carrot cake and Avocado and courgette cake. There were also cookies and slices available. A brilliant variety that I've nit seen elsewhere. They also had a vegan Chocolate fudge cake and nut free options. Kudos to the manager! My flat white was excellent and my husband enjoyed his oat latte.
