Legends American Grill & Bar — Restaurant in London

I loved this place. The venue has a mixed blended appeal to me. Its an american themed restaurant and has american memorabilia on the walls from car plates road signs to beautiful pics of Marilyn Monroe to Frank Sinatra with enlightening quotes. It really has a homely vibe to it. The staff are very friendly and make you feel like family as soon as you walk in the door. There very attentative but not in your face so you don't feel rushed or anxious by a constant gaze to finish your meal. My bff & I took our time & had a good catch up for my belated birthday celebration. We started with our cocktails, the strawberry daiquiris and mojito I had were to die for & both made from scratch (wow delish). We had the squid, calamari, cheese & garlic bread for starters, seabass, potatoes and veg for main, plus my friend had the sirloin salad. The portions were that good that we both had to get doggie bags as we were too stuffed to get desert but I'm gonna wear my elastic bottoms to make sure there is plenty of room for my afters the next time I visit. We arrived at 7pm tonight (sat 25th) and from the start we were rushed. We had 3 different people waiting on our table of 5 and they obviously didn't communicate with each other because one would ask us if we wanted more drinks and 1 minute later another waitress asked the same question and this happened throughout our time there. We were told that we needed to leave at 8.35 as the table was rebooked for another party. We hadn't even had pudding and we still had drinks on the table. We questioned the manager about this as we wasn't told this at the time of booking. She then said that it's normal in all restaurants that you only get 2hrs per booking but when we told her we had only been there an hour and a half she just walked away without saying anything. We wanted cocktails (which we then ordered) and pudding but we felt unable to order any as we had been rushed. I would not recommend this restaurant as some of the staff are very unprofessional including the manager. If you want a local restaurant there are plenty of better restaurants in eltham high street and I will not be going back to this one and neither will the people that I was with. I returned to Legends after a 3 years absence to discover it was under new ownership. Its now being ran by the lovely Becky , who's polite, professional and attentive as are all staff members here. Beckys injecting a new vibe and atmosphere in to this restaurant with some special entertainment on selected nights plus keeping the original kitchen staff so foods still remains delicious here. Particularly i love the meats dishes here! The ribs and lamb chops are delicious, plus some awesome burgers and great steak. Only criticism my steak was cooked medium and not medium-rare as requested and no draft lagers available.

Great local restaurant with a plentiful menu. Foods fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. Delicious, tender ribs and very good steaks. Also I can personally recommend the takeaway service.
