Very good bread and service. Average coffee. Their croissants are very good, too, but very unfortunately they stopped making them. Not sure why as they were lovely and fast selling. A big disappointment. Not very keen on the buns that they keep flogging. Nothing special about them. They taste like sweetened bread dough with added flavours such as cardamom, cinnamon or saffron.

Update as at Dec 11, 2021.

The croissants are back and for a few weeks now BUT in an erratic way. So we buy extra when a available and freeze some for later use.

In addition, the size if the croissants is decreasing every week. Today’s are half the size of what’s used to be and still selling for £3. See photo. The croissant on the right was in the freezer from the last visit, the other one is from today.

Forget about Fabrique who have no respect for their clients and they believe they can get away with it.

Furthermore, apparently what dictates their vision and offering is the mood of the head baker on the day, too, rather what their clients want.

Walk a few yards on Portbello Rd towards Westbourne Grove and you have a french patisserie (decent size croissant for £2.20 take away) and then you reach Sally Clarke’a on Westbourne Grove again for £2.20 and of a very high quality and using superior quality butter...

I visited Fabrique cafe on portobello Market road today with my wife and daughter after visiting this place many times last year and enjoyed the quality of service when the had some Swedish ladies who used to work there who were extremely nice and friendly but anymore. We were received by a nice girl who served us our coffee. As it was little warm inside. We decided to move in a table outside to get some fresh air and enjoy watching people after some people had left their table. I was stopped by the rudest person wearing a raincoat who I don’t know if she was working there or what for no reason. She took the only table and moved it inside while we were about to sit down and when I asked her why she was allowing those people to sit and not us. She kept going inside carrying the table without giving any legitimate reasons. As a matter of fact she just ignored us in the rudest way without even apologizing. Please stay away at all cost if you are a foreigner from going to this...

Fabrique is truly a gem among bakeries! Our visit to this establishment was nothing short of delightful. We indulged in their renowned vanilla pastry, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The taste was a delightful blend of sweetness and richness, making every bite a heavenly experience.

The cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff create a warm and inviting environment for patrons. It's the kind of place where you can savor your treats while chatting with friends or simply enjoying a moment of solitude.

The reputation of Fabrique's baked goods is well-deserved, and it's clear why this bakery has garnered such a loyal following. If you're in search of delectable pastries and a cozy spot to enjoy them, Fabrique should be at the top of your list. Our visit here was a delicious experience, and we can't wait to return for more...
