It's a real pity because before my mate and I ate, I actually vouched for this place and said it was class. So, we decide to go in, and right from the start, the staff were super chilled—no sense of urgency or even basic acknowledgment, which was odd. But fine, we keep it simple and order two chicken burgers in what was an empty restaurant. Now, tell me why it took 45 minutes to bring out two burgers. I thought, okay, maybe they’re taking their time to make it right.
But then I cut my burger in half, and the chicken is RAW—like, not even halfway cooked but fully raw inside. I was genuinely shocked. Imagine if I had taken a bite of that—I’ve got a weak stomach as it is, and that could’ve done me in. Meanwhile, my mate cuts his burger, and his is perfectly fine. The person I assume was the manager comes over, takes my plate, and her only response was, "I don't know, they were both cooked for the same time." Seriously?
So now I’m awkwardly sitting there while my friend devours his burger, which, in all fairness, looked good. But I was stuck waiting. I spoke to the manager again, saying how unacceptable this was, especially since I used to like coming here. Finally, after 30 minutes, my replacement burger comes out. Great, except by that point, I couldn’t even feel good about eating it. I ate it, and yeah, it was edible, but there was still a bad taste left in my mouth from the whole situation.
To top it off, they swapped all my sides—chips, potato salad, and the salad—for just lettuce leaves. If this happened at my place, I’d be giving someone extra sides after such a mess-up, not less! Honestly, I was so disappointed with the entire experience. I used to like this place, but after this, I’m not planning to come back. Unfortunately, this was...
Read moreI come here quite often for breakfast. It is friendly, very clean and the prices are low for the area. On the downside, they can’t scramble eggs properly (how difficult is it to combine the whites and yolks into a unified mass?) or toast bread or muffins. Tried the eggs florentine today : eggs were well poached and there was lots of spinach but the muffins had not seen a grill or toaster and the “hollandaise” was a sort of custard containing flour or cornflour and bore no resemblance to hollandaise sauce. Their smoked salmon is vile. On the upside, their veggies and eggs combo is good as long as you don’t mind the in toasted white bread (? Sourdough) and the scrambled eggs where the whites and yolks can clearly be distinguished. Excellent coffee! The staff are lovely so I keep coming back and trying different dishes with...
Read moreWent for a look and as I was early in West Hampstead, thought I would have a try, Nicely refurbished cafe/restaurant, a welcome eaterie in Fortune Green Road. I'll be honest, it took over 20 minutes to make eggs Royale, it was nice but I needed to be out within 30 minutes, so it was a bit of a rush to eat it, My fault I suppose, The music on play was not great, felt like I was in a lift in a store, that said, Im sure it will do well, today when I left, I slipped on the wet ramp out of the cafe and fell hard on my leg, but the staff came out quickly to see if I was ok, I'll live.... I will go again to try...
