It’s a very challenging time for businesses and therefore I believe we should all do what we can to support them. I have often gone past this cafe and been meaning to try their brunch as does look good. I went in for the first time yesterday with my son to get a coffee. I ordered my Cappuccino and came the coffee, however as I went to pay the transaction didn’t go through even though we tried few times. That was strange as I had just used my card at the local Waitrose and then after leaving this place used my card to get a coffee elsewhere. I’m not one to leave negative feedback unless necessary hence why I left a five star review but perhaps the right thing would have been to offer me the coffee and have me pay the next time I came (given either my card or your machine had an issue). I only say this as the coffee was already made...ready to go and there was no one else behind me to order it, so what a waste. I understand you are a business and not offering free items, but as it was made and only a couple of quid...just made sense to me and would have encourage repeat business. It is unlikely someone would have not returned to the cafe as they owe small change, especially as the issue was not having money but one of card not going through successfully. My intention is to support smaller businesses ....I already have a coffee subscription with Pret so could have just used that. Anyway, I hope you were able to enjoy the coffee and that it didn’t go to waste. Wishing you all the best and hopefully businesses like your self will be back and running...
Read moreThe food is decent and would have been my regular weekend hangout but for the erratic opening hours and, fatally, bad/rude service. It’s their prerogative to not open at the stated hours. However the service is fatal enough to make me boycott them. Today as I approached I saw two empty tables, one of which the waiter was wiping down. Inside the place was almost filled but not to the full (ie there were tables for 4 seated by 2). This first thing the woman said to me was “we are full.” I pointed to the tables outside but she insisted there was no space. She wouldn't even let me finish my sentence and kept cutting me off with “we are full”. I have seen them turn other customers away in equally offputting manner, including a woman who had called in advance to bring her daughter for her birthday brunch but when she arrived they told her they were were full.
Their omelettes are good but not worth the risk of having your mood butchered on a...
Read moreI've been a regular at this cafe for some time, but my recent visit left me deeply disappointed. While dining with my daughter, she suddenly fell ill and vomited unexpectedly. I immediately notified a staff member (the older lady) and their response was shockingly insensitive. Instead of showing concern for my child's well-being, they were primarily focused on the mess. Not once did anyone ask about my 7-year-old's condition or show any concern. This lack of empathy and customer service is unacceptable. I expected better from a place I've frequented. Think twice before dining here with your child if you value compassionate and...
