Francesco’s Pizza Place is a hidden gem that brings authentic, mouth-watering Italian flavors to town. The atmosphere is warm and family-friendly, with the vibe of a classic pizzeria but a touch of charm that makes it feel like home. From the first moment you step inside, you’ll be struck by the inviting aroma of pizza dough rising in the oven, mingling with the scent of fresh basil, garlic, and bubbling mozzarella.
The pizza here is exceptional. Francesco’s stays true to traditional Italian techniques, and it’s clear that every pie is crafted with love and attention to detail. The crust is thin yet perfectly chewy, with a crisp, lightly charred edge from their brick oven that adds an authentic touch to every bite. They offer a variety of options, from simple classics like Margherita and Marinara to unique house specials. The “Francesco Special” with prosciutto, arugula, and shaved Parmesan is a standout—its salty, savory flavors are perfectly balanced with fresh greens and a hint of sharpness from the cheese.
Another must-try is their white pizza, topped with ricotta, garlic, and a drizzle of olive oil. It’s a rich, creamy delight that isn’t too heavy, letting the quality of the ingredients really shine through. Francesco’s also doesn’t skimp on toppings; whether you’re a pepperoni fan or love a loaded veggie pie, they have you covered.
The service is as warm and welcoming as the food. The staff is attentive and happy to share recommendations if you can’t decide (which, believe me, is easy to understand with so many great choices). The restaurant has a casual, laid-back feel, making it a great spot for a family meal or a relaxed night out with friends.
In short, Francesco’s Pizza Place combines authentic Italian flavor with a cozy, inviting atmosphere. If you’re craving a slice (or a whole pie) that truly hits the spot, Francesco’s is the...
Read moreI’m writing this with utter disbelief and anger. As a long-time customer who has enjoyed many visits to Francesco’s, I never expected to be subjected to such a bizarre and disrespectful encounter.
Tonight, while placing an order with my sister, one of your staff members—a tall man of Asian descent—decided to scribble on my finger and fingernail using a Sharpie permanent marker. He did this without warning, without consent, and without any regard for basic decency. My hand was resting on the counter, and he simply took it upon himself to treat my skin like test paper. His excuse? The pen wasn’t working and he wanted to “check.”
Let me be absolutely clear—this was not just unprofessional. It was invasive, unhygienic, and deeply degrading. I didn’t process what happened in the moment because I was so taken aback by the absurdity. But after washing my hands repeatedly, the markings remain—and so does my outrage.
Francesco’s has always been a place I returned to for good food and respectful service. That trust has now been shattered. I expect an immediate explanation, a direct apology, and a clear action plan to ensure no staff member ever acts this way again.
This incident is unacceptable on...
Read moreOh my god this pizza!!!! Where do I begin!!! Firstly it’s even BETTER than Franco Manca! Why Franco Manca is so famous and Francesco’s isn’t (yet) is beyond me! I ordered the mixed cheese pizza as I am a Quattro Frommagi fan and it was DELICIOUS. Absolutely 10/10. So much cheese, not used sparingly. The dough was light and the sourdough tasted unbelievable. You can also get your pizza as a wrap or calzone and they have a variety of yummy sides such as crab claws! Both times on collection and delivery it was hot and fresh. The prices are also out of this world. My pizza was £8!!!! And if you collect or dine in during 12-5pm or are an NHS worker or student it’s always £5!!!!! The fries are also so tasty. You can sit indoors, there are plenty of seats and it’s cosy and cute. The customer service is outstanding. Personal service and served with a smile. The service is what added the cherry on top. I will never get pizza anywhere else! A real gem in Camberwell. Thank you for existing...
