On Monday evening ordered rice and peas and brown stew chicken. Not the first time i ordered the brown stew chicken. It was completely different from what i was served before. Different chefs i suppose. When i came to eat it was full of pot bottom rice. Crispy and crunchy getting stuck in my teeth. Meals are advertised as comming with plantain and salad yet on this and on previius occasions there was no plantain I called to complain and the guy apologized said it was the last of the rice thats how it happened. He was apologetic and took my name and said he will inform the staff the following day and i should come in to collect a complimentary meal. I went in on Tuesday afternoon and spoke to a young lady who bought a lady from the back to see me. Kenisha i think i heard her called. I had to relate again the reason for my visit. From her reaction it was clear the guy from the night before hadnt told them to expect me. The lady Kenisha did give me the complimentary meal eventually. What was disappointing was that from the moment i explained the problem her face was push up and vex. I was able to tell what time i visited and what time i called ect. I had bought the meal from the night before back. So if they wanted to see for themselves they could. My goodness Kenisha i didnt want to come back in to get a free meal i was entitled to it after being serverd inedible meal. The guy on the phone handled the situation well apart from not letting them know i was comming. Its a pity Kenisha couldnt give the complimentary meal with good grace. Ive been in several times since you opened and commented on how friendly and pleasent the service i received was. Kenisha if that's the lady's name, your attitude and the bad face you showed was not necessary or appreciated. Mistakes will happen its the way you deal with people when these situations arise that will make the difference between them returning to your establishment or choosing to...
Read moreI honestly did not enjoy my meal from here. I got two mash-up boxes: one with oxtail and mutton with white rice, and another with Jerk chicken and oxtail with white rice (there was no rice and peas). Both came with plantain. I also ordered a sweet potato pudding and a fried dumpling.
The meals were not fresh and therefore tasteless. The dumpling was twisted, which usually indicates it would be delicious, but it was stale and probably made at 6 am. By the time I bought it at 7 pm, it had dried out and had a doggy taste. The salad was also off; as you can see, I tried to bite the cucumber, but it was stale and smelled funny. It was a very hot day, and the salad needed to be refrigerated, not just kept on the cool display shelf. As a result, it was clearly off and inedible. The sweet potato pudding was also stale.
The problem with selling stale food is that while you might feel good about selling it rather than throwing it in the bin, the downside is you lose repeat clientele because no one wants to spend £28 on food and have a bad experience.
I also puller out this long thing from my food, felt like a piece of cloth not hair.
My advice: store food properly and sell fresh food.
On a positive note, the customer service was good...
Read moreI've rated a few Jamaican takeaways, but this one I have to point out the most!! Everything is soo delicious and authentic! A family run business, the food here is made with real love!
Me and my partner have ordered here twice for takeaway, you can sit in aswell if you'd like. We ordered medium Jerk Chicken with rice and peas (which was Grilled to perfection and has a sweet and really nice taste, not spicy), medium grilled bream fish with rice and peas with brown stew gravy poured on top (mouth watering, crispy outside soft white flakes inside. Peppers and onions combined was delicious!), plantain (soft and juicy as they should be!), festival (sweet doughy goodness with a cinnamon taste to it, best I've had so far!) And a chicken Patty (freshly made!).
The time before we ordered to try the jerk with rice and peas, callaloo and a beef patty, everything has been delicious and nothing left to throw away.
In my opinion this is the best carribean I've eaten in...
