Stopped here for early lunch with my 1y/o son on Saturday and was left feeling so fond of this place! The staff were so friendly and it turned out one of them was actually the owner who had been serving us, who was so thoughtful and attentive towards us. It really was so lovely how kind everyone was. Sometimes I go to places and I’m spoken to or looked at in a certain way that makes me feel like having a baby in a pram makes me an inconvenience… but I felt the opposite here. I feel like sometimes you can tell someone is stressed deep down even if they are smiling, and maybe they’re saying “take your time” but through gritted teeth lol but this was nottt the case at all here. I think this says it all actually: I felt happier simply by coming here and having these small but nice interactions (and amazing food and portions) We were made to feel so welcome and the atmosphere was a friendly family vibe with lots of locals, which is everything I love with a proper cafe. The owner was greeting the regulars and newcomers like us with the same grace, it was so lovely to feel like a part of it and see how much everyone else was enjoying their time here. The food is also delicious and the portions are 10/10. Definitely want to come back :) I’ve already told my...
Read moreI took my wife and child to this pie mash shop. Never been thereally before. We recieved our food and the food was completely tasteless. The pies were poor quality and the liqueur was way too thick. It cost £16. So I decided to tell the ladie who served me but there was queue so I waited quietly to the side and the cleaning trolly ladies came past and see is everything ok and I said to her quietly I just want to speak to the ladies that served me as we can not eat the food. So she decides to shout across the shop to the ladies. So the ladies who served me asked what's up. So I told her we can not eat the food because it just tasteless and the pies were hard. I said it a be better then that but anyway there was a guy in the queue just making he's order and he heard and decide to leave. So the ladies got completely pissed. Huffin and puffin. She said all we can refund you is for the pies bearing in mind the food has not been touch apart from tasting it. All we got was £6 back. I would never eat there again and I advise anyone who likes pie mash. This is not the place for you. Horrible food...
Read moreI am someone who has been medically diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and I really struggle in noisy environments due to sensory overload. I also find things like background music & flashing lights very distracting because of my ASD.
I honestly can say that I did not enjoy my lunchtime meal in here today Tues 17/12/2024 between 1:30pm and around 2:15pm because the background music was far too loud for me.
We asked them several times to turn down the background music but even though they said they would, they refused to do it.
This is a real shame as the food itself was good. If you are neurotypical you should be fine here but if you have ASD or are on the Autistic Spectrum then I would have to say give this place a miss and find somewhere else more suitable for your neurodiverse needs.
Food - 4 stars Service - 3 stars Atmosphere - 1 star for some reason this isn't showing up properly...
