Chinchins - Cafe Restaurant Bar — Restaurant in London

We ordered over £30 worth of food for delivery from Chinchins. They had a promotion whereby if you spent £30 you would get £8 off - however after the discount was applied they then added a service charge and the delivery fee meaning the discount was cancelled out anyway. The food arrived mildly warm at best, somewhat disappointing as the cafe isn't hugely far from our house. We were just packing to move so didn't have time to drive ourselves. The most disappointing thing for me was that the eggs florentine I ordered didn't come with the hollandaise sauce in a separate container, as sauces usually do from takeaways, instead it was already poured over the dish. Not only did this mean by the time it got to me the food was soggy, it also meant the sauce had leaked out of the polystyrene container into the plastic bag it came in. So my dish ended up just being two poached eggs with some very soggy spinach and a wet english muffin - no hollandaise sauce in sight apart from what had already been absorbed by the other ingredients. My boyfriend did say that the steak in his sandwich was well cooked and it tasted nice but was rather pricey for what he ultimately received. The same can be said for the salad and the chicken nuggets with chips that we ordered. Both were passable food but very small portions, haphazardly thrown together. It felt as though we would've got a better deal for similar choices at the local kebab shop. Overall such a let-down as the other reviews online show lovely looking food but it definitely seems that they haven't managed to transfer their dishes well to take-away. I think we shall have to pop in to actually eat in one day to see if the food is better. For now we won't be ordering take-away...

This restaurant has on multiple occasions ignored my specific requirements written in my delivery order to amend their vegetarian breakfast to a vegan one (which they do offer on their in-person menu), and I always include what I'd like swapped to take the mental load off incase they don't have all of the exact ingredients for their vegan breakfast too.

Well, the order I received today was a meal that seemed to be a vegan breakfast, with most of the amendments I requested, and to my surprise a giant slab of bacon hiding at the bottom of the box under everything else.

This is absolutely disgusting and horrifying. I've never received such an awful delivery in my life. Especially since the original meal I selected was vegetarian, this is a direct offense and imposes a health risk for every person that orders this meal who doesn't consume meat.

I am certain this was done out of spite, and I hope this restaurant faces extreme management for this behaviour and lack of openness to people from all walks of life who enter and want to enjoy their establishment.

Outrageous service and I would not recommend to anyone simply for their initiative to take action and do something horrible like this because of their own opinion about your dietary choices. Who knows how many of them spit in your food or put god knows what else if you accidentally look at a waiter the wrong way or have some kind of issue with the first plate they serve you. These kinds of people should not work in hospitality and food service if they are going to isolate and worsen someone's dining experience because of their personal beliefs.

Shame on the chefs and managers. Never ordering from here again and honestly...

So we were unlucky clearly as a large group was already in the cafe when we arrived.. as a result service, although friendly, took a loooong time. Very long. About 10 minutes from ordering to get two coffees, and a further half an hour to get two sandwiches. One side was forgotten and arrived after we'd finished, it was the sweet potatoes with paprika, except they had no paprika nor salt. I just feel everything fell a bit short. The halloumi avocado baguette was in a very soft, white bread, felt a bit undercooked (or at least not my idea of a baguette), but also actually quite small. Onion rings were good and the sweet potato fries would have been great with seasoning. Probably worth another shot but I think the staff could have been slightly better at keeping us posted, maybe refunded the missing sweet potatoes.
