I'm still really gutted about my experience on Mother's Day at Stuzzichini. I really wanted my mum to have a nice meal, and it's not exactly cheap to eat out, so it was supposed to be a special treat. When we arrived, we waited 25 minutes to be served our drinks, which honestly felt like a lifetime considering it was supposed to be a glass of processco on arrival. My partner received his drink way before us, so we had to sit there and watch him drink his drink. There was no communication that food would take an hour to arrive, and when it did, it came out at different times. My poor mum had to watch us eat our meals.
The manager did give us a complimentary drink which was appreciated, but that didn’t make up for the poor experience. I even had to go and get my own salt and pepper from another table. The lady who brought our food didn’t even ask if we needed anything else, like sauces or condiments (no care what so ever) and then I waited another 30 minutes to try and get the bill. I actually ended up having to go to the till to get served.
The place was clearly overbooked for the number of staff they had, and everything was poorly managed. I paid £150 for the privilege. If you're behind on service, at least communicate that to your customers instead of making them wonder what's going on. I wasn’t getting good vibes from the staff, except for the manager who was lovely. Everyone else seemed stressed and like they didn’t want to be there. The Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes looked like Aunt Bessie's, and I don’t think they were fresh at all.
Overall, it was very disheartening, and I felt really bad for my mum and lastly please can someone relocate the large lamps that are in the middle of the room to a corner or something. I couldn't get to my seat to and from the toilet and saw the waitress nearly face plant it...
Read moreRelatively new Italian restaurant in Bexleyheath, which I have dined at 3 times now, twice in the restaurant and recently in one of their private dining rooms. The restaurant is decorated to a high standard and the menu proves mouth watering reading without eye watering prices! Would avoid a table near bar if you are dining though. Great selection of wines and cocktails; bar, front of house and waiting staff also very good. Private dining was a fabulous experience. We did this for my birthday - there are 3 dining rooms; each dining room is uniquely decorated- modern, traditional and Mediterranean. We had a party of 20 so occupied the largest dining room with the Mediterranean style decor. My husband had arranged a private singer - the room was able to accommodate this both in size and through the in-room sound system (we also had the choice of playing our own music through this or the music played in the main restaurant). The food (which we had pre-ordered purely due to the size of our party, not at the request of the restaurant) was fresh, tasty and well presented. We had a dedicated waitress who was very good at handling our rumbunctious soirée. Would...
Read moreBooked the room downstairs for my 60th birthday for up to 20. The member of staff that served us was very pleasant and polite and the food was very nice. It took a long time to be informed that items we ordered on the menu were not available; one of the starters didn’t arrive and those who got their food at the beginning were well finished by the time the last arrived (or didn’t for one). In the end we were told sorry we’ll give you a free dessert as the mains are almost ready! We waited a very long time when we asked for something. This was not a reflection on the staff member but on the management. We should have had two people serving us (considering minimum spend was set at £600) and if it was a case of staff sickness or whatever, someone should have explained and apologised when we arrived. The ‘free’ dessert was charged for as well but I didn’t want to cause any further angst so I left it at that. And no-one from Management came and apologised at the end - not even a goodbye.
Basically, the only reason you didn’t spoil my 60th celebrations was that I...
