Goose Walthamstow — Restaurant in London

The experience started with me walking around the outside of the pub, checking for a menu. I couldn't see one, but decided to go in anyway, all good. A member of staff greeted me at the door, and I asked them if the pub was open, as I couldn't see customers inside.

The member of staff shot me a quizzical look, and then said: ''Do we look like we're open?'' in a condescending way

Ok, that was a bit rude, but fair enough. I then explained that since there was no one inside, I wasn't sure if they were serving yet. What happened next was a heated argument, started by the employee, based around the fact that I really should have known they were open, because the lights were on?!

I even asked the person why they couldn't have just let me know that they were open, rather than starting a weird, uncalled for argument around this minor and completely irrelevant detail. Even then, after I offered a resolution, they continued to engage in what was effectively shaming me for asking them a very simple question. They accused me of walking in and out the doors of the venue (even if I did, why would it matter?) , when all I was actually doing was checking to see if there was a menu outside.

I'm not someone who abides by ''the customer is always right'', but this is simply too far. Starting an argument with, and making a potential customer feel stupid for asking a question, is way out of line.

In the end I lost it with the employee (not good, but they genuinely upset me), and walked away.

I'd rather not describe the employee, because I don't want to negatively effect anyone's livelihood, and I was rude right back to them. Future customers beware, though

Ordered a couple of snack for the drink. After 30 min delay we enquire about our food and it was delivered to the empty table. When it got to us it was cold. Requested for it to be replaced, was told its not possible as it a loss for them. Pigs in blankets were cold, nachos were soggy. Rude staff and nasty food. Would not recommend it!

To reply to your comment. Non of the staff that I have enquired with took our order. The person that actually did was no where to be found. Additionally there was no actual options given to us! When I asked for the pigs in blankets to be remade I was told that's not possible. When asked to be refunded I was also told that it would be your loss and you would not do it. My only option as per your statement was to get the food reheated- which is not acceptable as from the looks of it it was not fresh and reheated once already. After both of the staff members argued with me and verbally attacked me that I was wrong, please do not expect to be treated kindly in return- everyone has their bottom line.

As it comes to the food- we have eaten a few of the top nachos as we had no problem eating it cold, however all of them underneath were very soggy and remained untouched- there was more than a half of the plate left. Pigs in blanket remained untouched. Please do not change the facts just to look better in front of other reviewers when service and courtesy of your staff is lacking. Our experience at your establishment were truly disappointing and we regret...

Rude service. Food delivered to the wrong table and left it there to be cold. When complained said that we gave a wrong table and there is nothing they can do. Wouldn't replace, wouldn't give the money back! As the sever said: "we would lose money". NEVER AGAIN!
