Greene Man — Restaurant in London

We Popped in on a Monday evening for a easy meal and it wasn't good,we decided on the two meals for a tenner opting for the Steak Pie and a Scampi and a child's meal of Chicken wrap that came with salad and some carrot sticks and a pot of grated cheese. Let's start with the Pie,good pastry but the meat itself was terrible, sinuous and full of fat would be the best way to describe it and the majority of the pie was left untouched, chips were good though and hot as was the veg (well peas). I had the Scampi and it was ok,nothing special but nothing really to complain about,again good chips and not to bad of a mushy peas. My Daughter (who is just shy of four) went for the Chicken wrap and it was a absolute shambles, the chicken itself was covered in a substance i can only describe as congealed jelly,the carrot sticks were completely dry and looked like they had been sitting a few days and the lettuce was just turning,she ate the wrap and cheese and our chips is all i can say. We had a large coke and the bill came to just over £17,now i would definitely call that value for money IF the food itself was edible, apart from the Scampi it really wasn't and definitely needs improvement, we however didn't complain but decided to just accept we wouldn't return. One last thing to mention, the Menus They were absolutely filthy and i mean ABSOLUTELY filthy, we looked at Menus from 4 different tables (3-4 Menus on each table) and EVERY single one was covered in something or another, i honestly believe they had not seen a cleaning product in a very good while, I'm really not exaggerating this issue needs serious and swift action by the staff,i mean seriously how hard is it to wipe down each day,not good whatsoever. All in all a very very disappointing visit and one we will not make the mistake of repeating, it's a real shame too because it is our local and we can walk there within a few minutes but from now on if we want a quick decent pub meal we'll jump in the car and head a bit further out. We normally love the pub and have been 3 times prior, but what happened tonight was very upsetting so Sadly I have to comment.

We arrived and were seated outside, but then decided to join in the quiz and move inside.

We were fine for the wait of food, as I could see that there was a large table of 16 people so we thought playing the quiz would pass the time.

When our food arrived it was missing key sides and elements such as peas/ sauces and toppings. There was no one to speak to about this at the bar or at the food area, so we had to wait until we had nearly finished before we could even tell someone to perhaps bring them over.

We, as a group of people in their early 20’s, felt instantly judged by the quiz master and uncomfortable by how we were looked at by people who were regulars. We also were not informed that we would have to be seated in a place were the quiz master could see us for questions, such as one bonus round were you had to raise you hand, in which we were ignored. This wouldn’t of really been a problem however, but as the quiz master collected our paper my mother in law phoned (who is clinically unwell), and My fiancé went to take the phone call with him near the table to my her mum who is in HOSPITAL, which was clearly displayed on her phone - and was rudely told in a snidey manner to keep her phone away.

We understood why he said this, as we are a regular quiz team at other pubs, so my fiance explained her unique situation to which he didn’t reply and acted coldly & harshly.

This made her so upset, that she requested my table to promptly leave as she started to tear up and became very flustered.

For me, this was so incredibly disappointing as we have a had such fantastic memories and drinks here prior, and I was looking for comfort over this incredibly...

Came to eat here today 11/06/2016 and the bar area to Order food was busy there was no que and the woman at the bar could clearly see I was waiting to order food a bunch of people in the corner were just chatting didn't seem like they were ordering anythin as they were chatting away for ages, stupid snotty Irish girl behind the bar completely blanked me and asked the bunch of people was they next and they said Ye so I said oh it that the que and her answer was well there isn't any particular que but there next she was so rude and should of told me instead of letting me stand there for 10 minutes! Then when am ordering food with some1 else she's butting in telling the woman we don't have this or that in witch I find rude when she's also serving my boyfriend! Terrible customer service skills! Also food was terrible been to couple of hungry horses in my life time and I didn't enjoy it here I get chicken New Yorker my bacon was burnt the chicken was dry, chips were cold!! Was told they had no chocolate fudge cake for desert but when people were coming out they were serving it to other people! Also waited a good half hour for are desert to come out!
