Jumped off the train at Clapham Junction (trains were all delayed, as usual), serendipitously strolled down the main road and into this bar/restaurant/club-type joint. First things first, ordered two lo-no alcohol cocktails, which were both delicious! Ordered from the ‘smaller plates’ section on the menu. Oxtail Mac (great taste, but a bit watery); Octopus (a disappointment, as it was bland and tasteless); Ribs (decent, the freshness of the garnish lifted them somewhat); ‘Patatas Bravas’ which, to be fair is never done right in London (roasted, slightly too soft, miniature potatoes with a drizzle(!) of what tasted like aioli(?) and a smidge of an attempt at the ‘bravas’ part underneath.., oh, with a few artichoke slices sneaking in!). Lovely waitress (in fact all the staff were attentive and nice) and vibey venue. Overall ‘pretty good’, but could be fresher!

The place was deserted inside and it was around 6pm on a Friday. Outside people were sitting and drinking but what I noticed is that there were two staff members working inside struggling on the bar and the line was way too long. Half of the people queueing behind me changed their minds and left. Anyway, we ordered and sat inside because the offer we used was only for inside sitting , which was fine. Considering how long we waited to be served, The food was really good and the staff was friendly.

Not really impressed, seemed very unorganised and overated.

Upon arrival, when I gave my name, the waitress looked at the computer and then immediately at the table, where the couple who had been in front of us and who didn't book had just been seated and looked very confused. We were then told that no tables were currently avaliable.

It was very clear that whilst we had booked a table, it was given to people that had not booked.

After waiting, we were finally given a table, we ordered our food. I had the "roast beef".

As harsh as this sounds, food wise at least, a Toby Carvery is nicer.

The beef was very very dry and didn't have much taste if I am honest.

Bit tight on the roast spuds but sadly very generous with the cabbage, so much so, it was like everything was placed on a bed of cabbage. The one yorkshire pudding was also cold.

Not a fan of cabbage, if I am honest and would have preferred some actual roast dinner with my cabbage.

Whilst, we ate, we noticed that people kept moving / being moved around tables like musical chairs. It just left the place feeling disorganised and not relaxing at all.

The staff also kept hovering whilst we were eating. Not to ask if we wanted drinks or anything but to grab the plates, as soon as the last piece of food had left them.

This just made us feel even more uncomfortable.

I wanted to enjoy my meal and like Hannah's, as I had visited here many times over the years (before it became Hannah's) but the mix of poor organisation, feeling uncomfortable and the bland food, I just didn't.

For me, from the moment I walked through the door until I paid the bill it was a huge disappointment.

I don't think we will be returning here...

Great venue and a novel idea, poorly executed. My friends and I tried Hannah Battersea for the first time and were excited by the concept but they just haven't got it right.

When you get there it is confusing between certain drinks you order from the menu and others that you have to buy by topping up a card and paying at pump. This card costs you £5 deposit which we weren't informed beforehand. The machines spent a lot of time not working, twice I paid for a pint on card and received no beer and had to wait for a member of staff to fix it only to have to explain how it took my money and long story short, I didn't receive an adequate refund on the card. On top of that, you can only order 2/3rds of a pint at a time and the machines is very froffy to begin with and you are very conscious of wastage. 3 of the 4 beer choices on the menu to order had run out and barrels were empty a few times when we went to get drinks from the taps leading to long wait times.

Next we ordered a house rose from the menu but when the bill came we had been overcharged for a far more expensive bottle. When we challenged this, staff said they ran out of the house rose so gave us a more expensive one (without our consent or even telling us). One member of staff agreed to refund us whilst another one came over to argue that we drank the wine and should pay. Very unprofessional. On top of all this, we then realised we had been charged 12.5% service charge! It's very unusual to be charged service charge on alcohol, especially at a place which you pour...

Please use heating! It's freezing outside!

Update:

The food was very good - ribs, plant-based burger, pork belly and wings cannot be faulted.

The waiting staff were lovely but unfortunately the orders did take a while to come. Each of our dishes came as the last person finished theirs but we were advised that the food comes when it's ready.

It was very difficult to enjoy my visit though as there were no patio heaters and it was freezing outside. We all dressed warmly but definitely expected to have heating and were rushing to get home to get warm again. This made the whole table very on edge all evening, hence the rating unfortunately.

The ordering app didn't work very well. It did take several attempts to get our orders through. I appreciate that it may needs some tweaking in the initial stages to cope with the volume of orders. I'm not sure it's fair to expect all customers to provide their email, telephone number and home address to place an order either.

This review was updated based on management/owner response, although I didn't find the response very...
