Im quite disappointed as I usually have a great experience at M&S. Today was not the case. I went to self checkout and paid cash, but i looked at the machine and it said I hadnāt paid.
So i called a member of staff who was very nice- and she said to wait for someone senior. Can you believe they made me wait 15minutes?
A guy came to help who looked very upset, he asked me not once, but 4 times āare you sure you put the cash in?ā As if i was silly, like i did something wrong. And when i explained what happened, the guy spoke over me and didnt let me speak , i even said to look at the CCTV. They werenāt able to open the machine..
He didnāt apologise for the wait and looked upset, when i was the one who shouldāve been upset . As if i had caused the inconvenience Waiting 15minutes, not being allowed to talk and not being apologised to.
This has happened in other supermarkets. Except they were very helpful, sorry for the incoveneince . And was sorted out within a minute.
You may be having a bad day, but donāt take it out on other people.
M&S please sort this out as i usually receive...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSelling a variety of foods and clothing, M&S always has some specialities that you cannot get anywhere else like certain sauces, meals, sweets and alcoholic beverages. I will admit that I have not purchased any clothing, my review is for the grocery section. The Percy Pigs sweets are great, a real crowd pleaser. I'm disappointed that they stopped selling my favourite peri peri mayonnaise recently, and their meat section, particularly their steaks, are below average. I would also say their M&S branded beers are honestly terrible! Fortunately, the staff are always really nice and ready to help plus the overall shopping experience is actually really nice. It's generally not busy (even during "peak times"), meaning you can get in and out very quickly for a quick pick up on your way home.
Update: the peri peri mayonnaise is back! However, my 4 stars has not been upgraded due to their below-average M&S branded beers as...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was extremely disappointed over a year ago when the shop in Clapham Junction stopped selling clothing. Nearly all the clothes shops have now closed down in the area and Marks and Spencer would be thriving by now... Instead, we now have, I admit, a nice looking, much bigger food only store, but with Waitrose, Coop, Liddle, Asda and a small Sainsbury's around the corner, what is the point?. We did not need a bigger food store. But we need the good quality clothing of Marks and Spencer. I went in every time I passed the shop and I nearly always bought some item of clothing. I like Marks and Spencer! Finally, to make matter worse, the management of the now food only shop has decided to have loud music. A terrible idea! It is too loud and not to my taste at all. It makes me run out of the shop after less three minutes. Who wants loud music in a supermarket? Please bring back clothing at Clapham...
