Be careful of being scammed!
Be careful of being scammed! I bought a One for all gift card from Boots in Clapham Junction. I wanted £120 on the card so when i got to the till I was asked to go back and pick up one more card because the limit on one card was £100. By the time i came back the lady gave me the £100 card and used the second card for further £20. This was a birthday gift for a friend. A year later my friend went to boots to use this cards and the £20 card was ok but the £100 card had nothing on it, was not even active card. She was embarrassed to tell but she said I think you should know. So we went together to boots, Clapham Junction with all the receipts, the cards and my bank statement showing 2 payments of £100 and £20 each. We were told there is no manager that day come back another day, we went back and forwards 5 times and we were told they can't help us because this was over a year ago, regardless that the vouchers are still valid. I took this to customer services as well, who also did nothing to help. I was told contact one for all, which I did but logically they told me its issue with boots activating your card. On my receipts you can see that the £100 card is not the card I was given but completely different card, which means my £100 went to someone else. So I belive i was scammed by tbe staff serving me who actually kept my £100 on another card foe themselves. I am so disappointed and was really embarrassed in front of my friend by giving her an empty card.
So be very careful if you buying gift cards from Boots as there is a big chance to be scammed!
Boots customer services did jot really care about this as well. I was just told it's over a year now and we can't help. Very disappointing to hear this, especially from a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited this store two months ago with my sister. We are two respectable women over 55. For some reason, the security guard started following us incessantly throughout the store. I understand that he was just doing his job, but he was right behind us the entire time. We found it quite funny as it was the first time in our life we experienced such a thing, we carried on with our shopping and didn't pay much attention to him.
Two months later, I returned to the same store. Iām not sure if it was the same security guard, and even if it was, I doubt he would remember me. Yet, the same thing happened again. Once more, I assumed he was just doing his job, but while waiting in line at the checkout, I noticed he wasnāt paying attention to any of the other customers.
When it was my turn to pay, the cashier informed me that one of the promotional items was free if I bought three. So, I left my items at the till and went back into the aisles to find a third item.
Thatās when the pursuit started again, as if I were a thief. I understand that he has a job to do, but perhaps he could do it more discreetly instead of jumping behind me like a cat, making me jump in fear and feeling like a thief?
I have never stolen anything in my life, so I never even think about security guards when I shop. But he makes it so obvious that even a child...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJesus wept! I've never seen a team of people so slow! Honestly, every time I have to come into this branch I leave irritated. How can it be that every staff member moves with no sense of urgency? Is it a requirement when they hire?! Goodness! Don't come here if you're in a hurry and think you can make a quick stop. False!
The other day I was 2nd in the line when the customer at the desk came in for a collection. That. Was. It! I knew from then it would be an extended trip. Instead of the ONLY cashier to call for assistance, she decided to go on a scavenger hunt for this order. It is not until the queue reached the door that she had the bright idea to call someone to tend the till.
Now don't get me wrong I have pleasant interactions with the staff and the car park is free for 90mins and a good size but if these members of staff were responsible for executing an emergency exit in a fire, we would all bun up!!
P.S. I would say to add a couple of self-checkout machines as has been suggested by other reviewers but more than likely when they malfunction, they wouldn't see the likes of a technician before planet Mars...
