An amazing experience. As a complete novice to KBBQ, the staff at Hanrue made the experience unforgettable.
Tutorials, advice, recommendations, (upselling in a way that you'd want to pay extra anyway!) - We felt like we were getting a personal masterclass from the wonderful Nathan. The venue was live, buzzing and had a great atmosphere- the staff constantly matched this and were polite, friendly and professional.
The choice of food options were fantastic and the staff (Notably Nathan), were very helpful in suggesting vivid combinations and flavour ideas. What gave just that extra kick was how happy the staff were to see you enjoying the food - the service felt very personal without it being too in your face, which was just perfect. The food caters for all individuals and the staff were very attentive of any food allergies or preferences- another big plus. (Nut allergy sufferers you are safe here! :) )
We were one of the last tables to leave as had a later booking but were not rushed, nor pressed to pay up. A special shout out to the server, who's name we did not catch but wore a very cool Bakugou T-shirt, who took our pictures for us and was happy to have a friendly chat.
Whilst there are lovely premium options on the menu (which we regret not trying now we think back), the menu was very reasonable for a meal out or date night.
This is my first review for a restaurant, I am not one to do so but the service and overall experience was something I had to shout about. Any visitor to the area, fan of KBBQ or any foodies MUST try out Hanrue! What was a quick flash idea to visit after passing it on the bus, has turned into a must visit for any future...

Just over 240 pounds for 2 persons and forcefully making it 2 sets japanese wagyu beef bbq looks like this, 1 extra plate pork belly and 2 drinks more than 240pounds. LOOK AT THE PICTURE.
They also told me 2 persons could not order different bbq sets. Has to be 2 japanese wagyu if i order 1 my partner has to follow.
Ended up it looked like they gave me just 1 set portion but charged for 2 sets!!!!
BECAREFUL GUYS OF THIS PLACE!!!!
The portion was very small for what is charged for AND!! That isn't even japanese wagyu. I work in a Japanese restaurant for 15 years myself as a chef, I came here for my partner's birthday and got rip off from these Indian people running this Korean restaurant.
What they served you I guaranteed you that is not from Japan at least not the ones on my plate what we had to pay for.
VERY VERY BAD QUALITY MEAT. It was very bland tastless , sauces were tastless as well. I wish I didn't pick this place, the place is empty when we arrived.
Two Indian ladies served us on the 6th December, I had ordered deliveries from here at night before, this was the first visit to the restaurant.
But I will not order food from here anymore because of this horrible experience and never come back!
Service charge on top, pointless. You are not even allow to pick 2 different sets for bbq.
Nothing like Korean BBQ in Korea. Worst dinning...
Read moreNice place. The design of the place gives you privacy which is nice. Staffs are really polite, patient and friendly. The menue covers several korean dishes and often for each dish you have few choices of toppings or options. The menue itself is a maze though but the staff patiently walk you through if you need. I had kimchi fried rice and also Jampong. The first one is a pan fried rice mixed kimchi and an egg topping. The second is a noodle soup with seafood. Both were good. I crave having a simple ramen but there wasnt any available so I had to order the Jampong. Both dishes taste good but comparing to my experiences over few years in South Korea I wouldn't call it authentic, however close enough. They had Soju and beer (maekju). Try combining them ususally 40% Soju and the rest beer (becames Somaek: Soju beer). The prices are a bit on the expensive side even comparing to other Korean restaurants in Soho or that area which was surprising to me. They had Korean BBQ too with VEG options. Didnt try it though. Generally a nice place for Korean food and I will visit again but note that I wouldnt call it the best I...
