Harvester George has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for families and casual dining. However, our visit was disrupted by an extremely disrespectful and inconsiderate family. Their children were running around tables, creating a chaotic environment, and the adults did nothing to manage the situation. This behavior affected not only us but also other diners who were clearly disturbed. Moreover, the assumed mother of the family was swearing loudly, which was highly inappropriate, especially with other families and children present.
Despite the disturbance, the food at Harvester George was quite good. We ordered 2 rotisserie chickens, all of which were prepared well and presented nicely. The flavors were spot on, and the portions were decent. we were pleased with our selections. The quality of the food lived up to the restaurant's reputation, making the dining experience a little more bearable.
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly our server, Siraj. From the moment we were seated, Siraj was attentive and extremely helpful. He noticed the disruptive behavior of the other family and made every effort to ensure our comfort. His empathy and professionalism were evident when he discreetly skipped the tipping option on the payment terminal, understanding that our overall experience had been negatively impacted by the inconsiderate family.
Siraj's approach to customer service was exceptional. He went beyond his duties as a waiter, showing genuine care for us as customers. His quick and thoughtful actions helped alleviate some of the frustration we felt. It's rare to find such a dedicated and compassionate individual in the service industry, and Siraj's efforts did not go unnoticed.
While our visit to Harvester George was less than ideal due to the disruptive family, the food and Siraj's outstanding service were redeeming factors. The restaurant itself offers a pleasant environment and good quality meals, but the management might need to enforce stricter rules regarding disruptive behavior to ensure a better experience for all diners.
If you're considering dining at Harvester George, I would recommend it for the food and atmosphere. However, I would also advise visiting during quieter times to avoid potential disturbances. And if you do go, hopefully, you'll be lucky enough to be served by someone like Siraj, whose dedication and care can make a world...
Read moreHaving been a regular now for over 5 years, it sad to say that the George has fallen victim to the harvester curse. While many of the friendly faces I once knew have gone, there are still one or two trying to hold on. But unfortunately it not enough to stop the tide of disappointment washing in. Like many a harvester now, the George attitude seems to be treat customers like a sushi bar. Keeping the food moving even if you haven't finished. Tonight our starters turned up 30 seconds after we sat down with our salad bar offerings. Which was slim, many of the items were empty, so we had to wait a while, meanwhile no one seemed to care the floor was drowning, yes a caution sign was placed near by. Customers were warning each other about the hazard. The staff only seem eager to get you next course on the table. Having chosen to speed eat my salad to avoid a cold starter. Our main course was had arrive. With the table still full it meant having to juggle the plate around, putting starters on our mains plate so we had somewhere to put the plate downs. Some 30 mins or more had passed before a member of staff came out the dry the pond up with paper towels. The biggest irony was as soon as we had been served our dessert it took time to get the bill. Time enough to notice the damp rottening through the paint work and timber above the window. What ever happened to the old days of walking into a harvester getting given tine to look at a menu and at the end of each course being asked are you ready for the next course. Is this now only reserve for 5 star restaurants now. Customer service has taken the summer off, i do hope it returns soon. This was once a good place to eat, The George has fallen...
Read moreI’ve done a review here before about the excellent service of a young lady working there sadly I’ve had to delete that one in order for me to post this one which I feel the need to post so everyone can see as I was disgusted by today’s visit. unfortunately today’s wasn’t good, the manager on in the evening was absolutely disgraceful, when we walked in we was greeted by the site of him arguing with some customers being quite rude and trying to forcibly take away their meal, we sat ourselves in the bar area to avoid the situation unfolding, due to this the staff looked extremely uncomfortable. It did seem extremely busy today everyone looking rushed of their feet the bar staff was amazing to apologise about the mess and delay and serve us promptly even bring over our drinks as the had to go and get them from somewhere else when our food came we was served by this manager who was quite rude about letting us know to get our own cutlery which we would of done had there been some in the holder but there wasn’t we was also very put off our food by the smell of him. We love coming in and want to continue but I would like to ask that you ask your manager to fix his appearance and general hygiene as it’s not very nice. We also overheard him quite loudly moaning to a customer about his bar staff saying “I apologise they aren’t the best” which we felt very uncomfortable overhearing as we think the staff is amazing. Is this how you want your managers talking to customers? All in all the food was great, the drinks were great the service was great but unfortunately your manager really let it down with multiple things, we hope to return again soon and hopefully we have a...
