We just came back from dinner there, I gave 2 stars, I even would give 2 1/2 because the taste was okay. My husband had a dirty burger which was okay, the chips been bit pale though. I was so much looking forward to my rump steak which I ordered medium rare, and what disappointment this was. We had a table where we could see the kitchen and the plates waiting to get picked up by the waiteress. So we could see our plates standing there for 10 minutes!!! including chips. After about 8 minutes a waiter came took the chips and brought them to a table not far from us. We also could see and even hear our waitress very clear as she was standing not far from us having happily a very long chat with a couple she seemed to know, they had quite a laugh. I even said to my husband, I bet this is our plates standing there waiting to be picked up. When her chat finally ended she went there, but now our plates had no chips, as they been as mentioned above been taken by another waiter. So there was another wait for chips, she then took the plates and like I had said to my husband it was ours. The chips have been the only thing on my plate which was hot. The onion nest was cold, the steak was luke, the corn on cob was cold. So she came and asked if everything is okay and we told her no, because it is cold, she said no worries I get you a new one. I had put already pepper on my corn and cutted a bit of the steak, so she vanished and came back after about 2 mins, it was not really anything new it was just put in the microwave. As before I just cutted a small bit of my steak of the rand which was thinner then the rest I did not see what I now discovered, it was not medium rare at all, but super rare - more on the border to blue, so far away from medium rare. And this is not something I like. I did not want to say anything again, even though she came and asked again so I just said it is hot now. The reason for this was as we just had a loss and I was not in the mood to discuss or anything although if she would have taken the plate again so that the steak can go on the grill what would have happened to the rest? It would have gone cold again, so it would needed microwave again. Also a steak which was fried good knows how many time ago even though it was really not on the grill for long, how would this be if it gets grilled again. So when we paid we just said as feedback, that the steak was not eatable, she went off - came back said the manager takes our drinks off, this was nice we not even had asked for. We been willing to pay the whole price - we could have said something, but I just not wanted to my plate to go back and fro however many times. If there would not have been the disaster with the cold food because of her chat, but just the rare steak I would have said something. But saying something twice is awful - chatting with friends for 10 minutes however instead of doing your job...
Read moreMy partner, his cousin and I hadnt visted any Harvester since lock down had started. Upon arrival, we were left waiting at the door for around 15mins to be seated - or for anyone to even acknowledge that we were there. Staff members were walking past and just looking at us. Eventually someone came over to seat us.
Once we were seated we weren't notified of any of the changes that the restaurant had made due to covid, So once we had ordered our food, naturally, as you do, we went over to the salad bar. We started loading our bowls with the salads that we like/wanted, when one of the waitresses (big teeth, brown long hair) started shouting at my partner "YOU DONT DO THAT" We all looked at the lady confused and asked her what she meant, and she kept repeating "you don't do that, you can't do that" once that conversation went back n forth for a while and her repeating the same 2 pharses, a kind gentleman (who was trying to enjoy his meal) said to my partner "you can't take your own salad mate, someone needs to come and do this for you" - we weren't notified that that's what needed to be done, or that's what the new rule is. And instead of the waitress stating kindly "you can no longer create your own salad bowl, one of our staff members with do this for you" she just continued to shout at my partner. So now my partner and I are standing by the salad bar waiting for "someone to make his bowl" - the lady who originally started shout at him walked passed us 5 times and kept staring us down like we were dirty people. Fully knowing that we're waiting for our salads she just continued to walk past us. Eventually someone came to serve us the salad..by the time that had happened, our mains were at the table and cold.
After 2 years, I was not expecting this kind of behaviour or treatment from a waitress. She really needs to sort her attitude out before she pisses off the wrong person. Or go on some form of customer service training.
Other than that, the food was great. The 1 star is due to the waitresses lack of customer service...
Read morePre booked an evening meal when I arrived was meeted and greated promptly and seated, the restaurant was not busy at all and only a few people dining. Once seated orders were taken after a whiles starters arrived which were all good then about 20 mins after the mains arrived, 4 out of the 5 meals came with corn on the cob which all were stone cold, once questioned staff apologised and offered to change, staff went away to get more only to return to say they actually ran out at this point I thought just leave it, Then noticed certain parts of our meals were missing, again questioned this with the staff who again appologised and went to check with the kitchen only to come back again to say they ran out. So bit of poor communication between kitchen staff and serving staff? One of the kids meals had a steak which was requested medium to well done, arrived raw! Asked to have sorted which was cooked for longer to where it was finally edible. We had finished our mains and table was cleared. At this point we were hoping to have dessert only to be told the dessert bar has been closed down! Management has decided to close early due to very little trade at no point was we informed. I explained that service has not been great since we got here again an apology and he said he would go speak to a manager to see if he can serve dessert, he returned in a few mins and said that dessert can be arranged and took out order. We requested the bill and and was not offered any sort of discount for the missing items on our orders at this point I just wanted to leave. Will not be returning to this branch, food quality and atmosphere is miles better at there bee hive Lane branch, I will stick to that one in the future, I did not catch the name of our server but his service and hosting was...
