First impressions walking in: Friendly, brightly lit and snug coffee shop I went in on a Thursday afternoon when it was not busy unfortunately I experienced extremely slow service, I realised later that the sole barista was bang in the middle of serving a large take away order for a waiting customer. Looking around there were the usual suspects of pastries, cakes and beverages on offer. I ordered a flat white and a slice of carrot cake. Their Wi-Fi was agonisingly slow Wi-Fi which made my wait drag on and felt even longer :( I thought to myself"Well if it's good coffee and cake then it'll have been worth it". Unfortunately when it finally arrived my flat white tasted passable and not worth the 15+ min wait. It lacked any sort of depth and tasted weak, not helped by the excessive foam on top. The carrot cake however was delicious, lovely and moist. The creamy cheese topping added extra indulgent with an unexpected crunch coming from the pumpkin seeds on top. The thin slice portion was on the stingy side. Certainly 56 James Street, Wynwood and the other E17 independent coffee shops are far more generous. Fortunately the barista DID acknowledge AND apologised for the wait. She had a problem with the equipment on top of everything. Something about getting the levels right. Before I left she asked if my coffee was too strong and I gave her my view as I have stated above. Overall had high hopes for this place, especially looking from the outside in as it looks the part. Today I was left feeling disappointed. However she asked me to come back and I'd like to give incoming another chance in case this was a one off. I'll make sure there's a different barista on coffee duty though. I love seeing more places like this in Walthamstow and I wish them well.

Just moved to Walthamstow and trying all the different caffeine dealers nearby. Grabbed a latte and a pain au chocolat today and both were delicious. The coffee is on the smaller size but packs a punch and expertly made. The pastry was fantastic - big, flaky and really high quality (not sure where they source them from). Definitely worth a visit!

Super friendly, small local cafe. Great choice of coffees, supplied by Peaky Blenders and Karma Cola cold drinks such as Gingerella. Small bites such as focaccia sandwiches, savoury muffins, cakes and Portugese custard tarts. Next door to a big but pretty soulless Costa - I much prefer drinking coffee here.

Went for the first time thinking will get a decent coffee for £3.90, ordered a cappuccino (which is an espresso with frothy milk) had my coffee and opened the lid to add some cacao, the coffee had no froth at all, I politely asked the barista to make one that’s frothy, he steamed some milk and decided that he just would add the froth to the already full to the top flat coffee! I politely asked to remake it which he refused with anger. I said sorry I’m paying £3.90 for a cappuccino to get a cappuccino not a sad flat milk. The nice lady from the kitchen came out and told him it’s ok remake it! The coffee shop was empty, he had no customers to rush me or refuse to remake it! He made me feel bad and I kept apologising to request him to remake my cappuccino. Please hire baristas that can tell the difference between a latte and a...

I really want this place to be good. We went in when it first opened and put the slow/poor service down to teething issues. However, we've been there since and it hasn't really improved. The coffee is decent which is the main thing (serving coffee the local Perky Blenders) but the service continues to be the issue. Although kind, the staff take a long time and don't seem to listen to you when you place your order meaning there are often delays.

If they can just polish up the service, I'm sure they could put up an even better fight against the Costa's 20ft down the road - something that I think everyone would be...
