Island Poké Victoria — Restaurant in London

This is not the cheapest place you could visit, but you get what you pay for and in this instance that is high-quality fish, friendly service and very filling portion sizes. I was pleasantly surprised by the meaty chunks of fish (I customised a bowl to try the salmon and the tuna) and the portions were good. The staff know their stuff and can make good recommendations and overall you will definitely get your fill.

This is one of the rare places (of my experience) where the fresh, sliced chillies actually pack a punch. Very refreshing mango as well. I cannot be certain if it was 'actually' fresh, but it tasted wonderful and really complimented the food.

Unfortunately, the seating is not very welcoming for more than two people to go together, but it seems designed for the workers nearby to grab lunch rather than tourists or small groups who may be looking for lunch near Victoria. The seating is for pairs or individuals and this isn't a negative, but something to consider depending on who/when...

I ordered the classic poke. Bowl. With Tuna, it arrived by uber eats really quickly (I paid £1 extra for it to be delivered to me as a priority, and I do live only 10 minutes away)!

I had heard about poke bowls in a documentary I saw on Hawaii. This bowl was such a treat! Really filling! So much food. All the ingredients were fresh, the Tuna had a sauce on it which gives the Tuna a 'meatier' texture (if I can call it that - not exactly the same as Tuna in your sushi roll with some soy sauce on it), it was unexpectedly delicious!

I asked for a noodle and sushi rice base, but the noodles weren't like Japanese or Chinese ones (obviously😅), so in future I would personally just ask for the sushi rice base. But then I ended up liking their noodles once I got past what I was expecting they would be.

I was hungry and wandering down Victoria Street when I stumbled upon Island Poke Cafe. Having lived in America, where poke bowls are readily available, I have missed them dearly since moving to England. I was initially hesitant to try this spot, as other poke restaurants had failed to meet my expectations.
