Itto — Restaurant in London

This place is AMAZING. Such a hidden gem. In two minds about reviewing because I don't want this place to get too popular and then we can't just rock up and get a table... We went last week for a Saturday lunch to treat ourselves and felt super safe and spaced out from the others. It was a rainy day so it wasn't busy which was ideal for us! We ordered lots of different things including the vegetable tempura, spring rolls, veggie gyoza, vegan tofu lunch bowl special, and duck pancakes. I'm vegan but my husband isn't and my veggie food was incredible - literally the best veg tempura I've ever eaten and I have tried that dish from every restaurant imaginable, so it's the highest of compliments. Their smoothie was delicious and my husband enjoyed the floral tea he ordered - I can't wait to come back with my friends!! I love this place, and actually think it's better as a takeaway because you can get Pho which isn't on the eat in menu, which is strange. I'd suggest ordering directly from the restaurant rather than Deliveroo because you don't have to pay the £3 Deliveroo charge. What's great about this place is the variety on the menu, it has a wealth of Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese and even Chinese dishes meaning you and friends can all eat different things. Often with places that offer various cuisines you compromise on the authenticity, and flavour of the dishes but not with Itto! The service in the restaurant is absolutely lovely too, a really nice family run atmosphere and great value. Key things to get - chicken satay and the gyoza are incredible - both veggie and chicken. The place is cosy and food is great, but the customer service just deeply disappointed me. The waiter poured on my friend the whole glass of sticky plum wine (we had to pay for dry cleaning after)! But thats not the case, that can happen with everyone, but I was so shocked when we received our bill with no discount and +6,50 for service charge!!! What?!?! I went to the owner/manager asked why we've been charged for the wine and so on he was surprised that I demanded a discount and sadly offered 5 pound off. Really?! Thats not a question of money, thats about customer service here! And unfortunately we wont come back to that place even though the food was good.
