So im going to leave a review on the basis of being one of the first members who joined and are family of four with a 6 month old and a 3 year old.
Firstly the negatives: the co-working from upstairs above the nursery where the silent area was a blessing, and the booths while not ideal, was still 10 booths and going to that parking lot area is pretty shocking. it doesn't make much sense to have everyone talking over each other and two booths not doing much near the entrance. I get why Charlie and co decided to go this direction as the top floor can be converted for nursery needs as you did more sign ups, but it does mean the co-parenting workers are then tossed aside. We know this is an issue as Double Shot, my favourite Coffee Shop across the road, saw an overflow of people from Jaegos and then decided to remove their power sockets as they needed to remove that overflow.
As most the reviews are talking about this, my honest suggestion here is that you convert the entire co-working parking lot into the gym + studio classes + bathrooms. And then where the gym is, make that the co-working space and the bathrooms and showers the booths. From a square footage point of view, you gain more class space but your co-working parents get strong wi-fi and direct access to their kids above creche / classes / the nursery and it's all integrated.
I'm pretty sure this is the better option. Personally tbh I don't care too much as I work in the restaurant and camp there and there's plenty of space weekdays there, so maybe if people need good wifi and dont care about talking in an open space, that's a lot better than annoying people in the current co-working space.
Negative 2: yeah I gotta admit this but you have to work out your F&B options for kids beyond basic pastas and the like. Something like fresh fish slices, or roasted chicken with sweet potato or a better complex carb would be better than what you have. I know your current menu is designed in pricing to offset the relatively cheap members monthly price, but still it's something to consider to incent your members to spend their money at the restaurant
Negative 3: continue all your kids classes in the nursery, having them in the studio where it's cold and not carpeted, or at the snug upstairs where it's overcrowded doesn't make much sense. you have to housekeep anyway on the weekends so why de-incentivise your members by making them feel like when they arrive late, they literally can't shuffle into the class, and wait despondently outside.
Frankly delays happen, after all you don't really make it easy to book car spaces when they have witches hats and parents have to drop one kid off, find a random single yellow line park outside and hope the Number 18 bus doesn't plow into their car halfway into the class. As you can tell, this negative is tongue in cheek, but that road outside Jaegos is notoriously awful due to roadworks so you must know that drop offs there are just....the worst.
Now for the positives: given the area is NW10 and W9, frankly let's face it for what you are getting with a decent enough soft play, classes that for the kids is enjoyable enough (even if it's crowded upstairs on Level 3 for wake up and bop) and you pay for food that is marginally better than museum food but the kids still get fed. And on top of that, the co working and the creche is decent enough. If you take that at face value, which is a jack of all trades facility that is integrated, as opposed to 'oh i could get a gym, i could go for a coffee shop to work, etc etc' and not account for the time spent getting around the place, then I think Jaegos is a good enough deal.
The stuff that is complained on here doesn't necessarily merit 2 or 3 stars out of 5, but its fixable. I'm assume Charlie and their leadership team are working on these, but i'm not going to suddenly expect soho house type service for what frankly is a reasonable price that is approximately 15% the cost of a monthly nursery fee.
Another suggestion for the team: buy next door which is boarded up next to...
Read moreJaego’s house is such a great concept but like the previous reviews have mentioned, customer experience is quite shocking.
We haven’t had real issues in person yet and the staff I’ve interacted with have been nice so far but the whole onboarding experience has been far from smooth for us.
I tried Jesse’s first, paid the £350 deposit and within a week decided to cancel as it was too far from us and initially thought the swimming classes would be part of the membership which they weren’t so Jaego’s was the natural choice between the two given the distance and being pretty much the same apart from the treatment rooms and pools. The said deposit which was meant to take up to 10 working days to return, took almost 4 weeks and a whole lot of chasing up.
As what they offer is something that fits well with our needs, I still went ahead and got the membership at Jaego’s and we’ve just done our trial.
I signed up for 2 adults and 1 child as we’re co-parenting and both wanted to try it. 3 days before the 14 day free trial ends, I emailed the membership team letting them know we will be keeping the membership but only for 1 adult and 1 child and adding in my coparent on the months he’s in the country. They said that’s fine and they’ll cancel it on Friday (trial ends Saturday). I responded to explain he leaves on Saturday and would love to keep using it until then and they said that it’s fine to do after the weekend but they will charge a fee for it. They went on to say changes need to be given to them 48 hours prior to the end of the trial period as admin team doesn’t work on weekends. (Website says 9am on the last day of trial which I mentioned and they said that the 48 hours period is what they’ll be changing it to).
So it’s good to note that it’s not really 14 days trial if you’re considering. They also don’t inform you the co-working space is under construction so that’s not a part of the trial until next week - 7th Oct.
We cancelled the booked classes and he made other arrangements for the last day of trial we thought we had. They deleted him off the portal but my account was still due to be charged for 2 adults and 1 child so I emailed again asking for this to be changed. I expressed my frustration and they didn’t respond to it. More following up from our end and eventually it was changed so I was ready to just forget it all and use the facilities which is all we just want to do but yesterday I noticed my membership says there’s an issue so immediately I call the number suggested on portal to fix it and was told membership has to be emailed as they’re not onsite which I did. Still no response today, have called and emailed again and still nothing. Had to cancel all the classes booked for the day so far and a whole day wasted and made new arrangements for. I’ve only been on site once so far since our trial ended. Just so frustrating having to constantly chase things up and feel so helpless that I felt the need to write a review in hopes higher ups would invest more in either training / hiring more staff or automate some of the processes to...
Read moreJaegos has become a core part of my family life, parenting is hard, early motherhood harder - in my opinion and pair that with relationship pressures, work demands and Central London living costs - you really do appreciate places like these. We were lucky to be one of the initial waves of memberships so we have enjoyed the club from brand new.
Everything the other reviews say is true, so I’ll focus on what works best for our family.
Kids club - the Baby Sitters are ANGELS my daughter spends a couple hours each morning 5 days a week with them and from her first week we noticed a massive improvement in her vocabulary and communication all round (she’s 17 months old) Each day is a joy to drop her off, sneak away to the 3rd floor and pitch up my laptop to work in peace or indulge in listening to my latest podcast and enjoy some porridge (Cacao nibs, coconut and berries delight)
My daughter loves the cinema - also on 3rd floor, always a choice of great films and never overcrowded so lots of fun for the whole family if you love snuggles as much as us.
Soft play is also a dream particularly on bad weather days or days you just can’t be …. but I recommend the mornings for under 2s as the afternoons especially during term times can be very very busy, many older siblings from the nursery next door come over after school and it becomes a different vibe from then on. As with all soft plays; Chatty nannies and unconcerned parents are also here, would be nice if Jaegos provided some additional staff to monitor the soft play at busy periods, sometimes the big kids go into the little ones area, coffee cups can be left around and it seems a lot for one person who also needs to serve at the cafe - that’s another plus! Cafe on each floor, soft play, snug, restaurant… lots of options with healthy bits and plenty of good coffee/ trendy iced teas for us!
We use the club daily, my husband and I take turns in dropping off our daughter to kids club whilst the other hits the gym or array of adult classes on offer too. It really has become a staple part of my life, we have numerous friends who also joined but have made so many more too - which is great because everyone is pretty local, same age groups and for us luckily - same nursery too which makes hanging out with other like minded parents easier.
Haven’t used the study much as I just sit in the snug with my laptop to get work done, but the fact I have the space available made going back to work a lot easier, I can freelance with access to great wifi, space away from other members for some privacy and loadssss of plug outlets which I never knew would be such a joy when you forget to charge your phone the night before because you had the bedside breast pump going overnight…
Anyone considering joining or even interested in the new Jesse’s House soon coming to Parsons Green… I’d say go for it...
