It was a hot day and I really fancied a smoothie bowl so I decided to try this spot.
Pros: nice coffee. Friendly workers. Good seating, with plugs and fast wifi (though interior not my taste). All veganđ±
Cons: I was quite surprised by the prices when I got in (ÂŁ10.75 for a small tub!), but Iâd heard good things so thought I would treat myself. I asked for it without coconut chips, but they wouldnât give me any other topping as an alternative without paying extra. So I spent ÂŁ1 extra for some kiwi on top.
Maybe Iâm just not cut out for this part of London but when Iâm spending ÂŁ11.75 on a smoothie bowl it better be thoughtfully made, but it felt incredibly stingy for that price. The base was fine, very banana-y (probs because açai berries are more expensive). There were about five teeny chunks of kiwi on Iâd paid ÂŁ1 extra for, about a quarter of a banana and THREE blueberries. When I asked if I could have a few more than three they just shook their head and said âno, three blueberries is correctâ. To confirm: they really charge ÂŁ10.75 for a bowl and then ensure their workers put no more than three blueberries on each one. Itâs so funny.
So overall, not a bad place (decor not really my vibe, very modern and concretey), but the stinginess is just nuts. It feels like a money grab and I find...
Read moreDonât go there if you wanna eat-in. The service was great, the staff is really nice. The food is overpriced but I was hoping that would be the price to pay for a good study/work atmosphere. I tried to do a bit of work yesterday and today. Yesterday one of the other customers got cold and went to close the door, then the staff opened it again, I asked if they could close it and they turned on the fan above the door instead which didnât do much. Then another customer asked and they finally closed it. Today when I went in, I asked again if they could close it and they said no because the boss is coming. I pointed out that itâs very cold and the staff said âI know it is but please donât close it, weâll ask the boss when he comesâ. I waited for a bit but got too cold and left. This was very odd that theyâre not allowed to close the door when itâs around 10°C. Itâs a nice work/study space but not if no one has authority over the temperature besides the boss who isnât even there. Hope they can...
Read moreExtremely disappointing and unsafe experience I ordered two acai berry bowls from Juice Baby Notting Hill through Deliveroo. I clearly requested one without almond butter because my partner has a severe nut allergy. If you check the receipt, it shows exactly that. Two acai berry bowls, with one marked no almond butter.
Instead, I received two completely different bowls. One of them was a Verde bowl, which I did not order. You can see in the photo that one is green and one is purple. Both came with almond butter, which meant my partner could not eat either of them.
I called the restaurant and the staff were completely unhelpful. They told me to speak to Deliveroo and took no responsibility. Deliveroo could not do anything either, so I have now spent ÂŁ27.90 on food that was incorrect and unsafe.
This is not just poor service. It is careless and potentially dangerous. There was no accountability and no attempt to resolve the issue. I will not be ordering...
