A Hidden Gem in Notting Hill. We Didn’t Know We Needed This!
My group of friends and I were wandering around Notting Hill recently, not really sure where to grab a bite. Honestly, we hadn't heard of Taquería before, we actually came across it online while walking nearby. It looked close and promising, so on a bit of a whim (and with some help from a little AI suggestion), we decided to give it a shot.
And wow, what a fantastic decision it turned out to be!
From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. The place is just as good in person as it looks in photos, vibrant, cozy, and full of character. It instantly felt welcoming, which was made even better by the absolutely amazing staff who treated us like old friends. They were warm, attentive, and always checking in to make sure we were enjoying everything, it really elevated the whole experience.
Now, onto the food: this is the real deal when it comes to authentic Mexican cuisine. The tacos were bursting with flavor, tender meat, fresh toppings, and warm tortillas that tasted homemade. The nachos were a highlight too; crispy, cheesy, and perfectly seasoned. And the drinks? So refreshing! We tried a few different options, and each one was delicious and well-made.
Beyond the food, we genuinely had a lot of fun here. It’s the kind of place that feels like a little escape, great vibes, great people, and great flavors. You can tell they put love into every part of the experience.
I can’t recommend Taquería enough. Whether you're a local or just passing through Notting Hill, do yourself a favor and stop by. We’ll definitely be back, next time maybe with more friends (and...

Read moreWe visited for an early dinner on a Saturday. It was not full, but busy enough to warrant booking ahead. It’s a very casual place.
Myself and my wife ordered a few different tacos (roadside chicken, fish, prawn and crispy potato), plus a ceviche toastada. The tacos come in pairs while the tostada is solo. They do have a kids menu with a fair amount of choices and our kids ordered the chicken quesadillas and corn on the cob, which went down well. We enjoyed our food. The chicken taco was the clear favourite, but the fish tacos were a close second. The other items were decent too. The portions were generous, we were totally stuffed after 4 tacos plus half a tostada each. We did persevere though and tried the churros and tres leches cake for dessert. These were enjoyable, although the churros could have been crispier.
Service was super speedy! We were in and out within an hour, which was much appreciated given we were out with our young kids. That said, a lot of the staff seemed a bit lost and inexperienced. The front of house manager was very good, but visibly (and audibly!) flustered by some of her team. Our bill came to £138 of which £45 was spent on drinks. This seemed very reasonable for our sizeable meal. Overall I’d give them 4 stars for the food alone, but added a 5th star given the quick service and...
