Please please please avoid this place!
Unfortunately my experience here was an awful one it’s taken me over a week to think and reflect before writing this review as I wanted to write it without emotion.
I went to Kaabo for an event, my friend was already there she had ordered an alcohol free cocktail which was horrible. So I decided against that and ordered one with alcohol which was much better. Service was slow and not because it was busy but because staff were standing about chatting to one another / chatting over people’s drinks while they were being made
I ordered some food to take away , turkey and Ponmo mix and asun to take away.
After paying I realised I had been overcharged for my order, I was later informed the additional £6:12 was service charge which I refused to pay . 1. Why be dishonest and not inform me before hand that you were adding a service charge 2. Why am I paying service charge on takeaway food I was given a cash refund of £5 and because they had no change I told them to keep the rest
Unfortunately, I forgot the food on the table when I left . The next day I called to say I would collect my food after work , I was first met with resistance and then told the evening staff would be informed and I would get a call back. I did not get a call back but I was determined get my food based on principle
I called back the evening staff and told them I was on my way and was told the kitchen would be informed . On getting there, while sat in the car I was told there was no turkey and ponmo mix ( which was the most expensive of the two at nearly £20. So I told them I would take 2 asun (goat meat dish) . There was a lot of rudeness in the background and poor telephone manner. I collected the food to find out I was given 2 beef dishes and I immediately binned them.
If you choose to visit this establishment which I will strongly advice against please know to expect really poor customer service, dishonesty and please check your receipt and ask to be sure you are being charged the right amount.
To the owners I hope you reflect and treat your customers with respect and dignity. Business is not about just taking money from people, it should be about the respect and care you give to the people who come to spend their hard earned money at your establishment. Read moreFirstly, thank you Benjamin our wonderfully willing, patient and smiling waiter. Saw a festive group of 'Aunties', he rose to the challenge and did a phenomenal job of attending to our table.
To be quite honest, all the staff that we experienced were superb! EVERYONE OF THEM. They were extremely accommodating from please can you lower the music, to 'let there be light, why so dark?' and the other numerous requests from a party of eleven.
Only down side was having to wait 45mins to an hour for our corn-fed chicken with Jollof rice and fish with Plantain. The hunger turned to hAnger. So much so I was adamant to get discount on the bill because of the wait.
Apparently everything is made fresh hence the wait but truly it felt like they were at the back chasing the chicken and fishing in the river for the fish. Lol
Here's the thing, by the time our food came out and we tasted that truly succulent half chicken, the charcoal Jollof and creamy coleslaw...all the hunger and anger left my body. I kind of understood why it took so long. By the end of the night I found myself giving a small tip to brave young Benjamin and lamenting to the manager how great the food and service was.
Oh I forgot to mention the swing by the entrance. Remember I said there were eleven of us 'aunties' and each sat on that swing: solo, in pairs, as group for endless WhatsApp worthy pictures, yet that thing did not flinch! As in, wow!! Heeehee

I visited Kaabo Lounge with my family for lunch, and unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired.
Upon arrival, there was no one available to greet or seat us. We eventually found our own table. Only one waiter was available to take orders, leading to very slow service. He frequently forgot parts of our order, requiring several reminders. At one point, I had to get up myself to collect straws for our cocktails from the bar. We also asked for water for the table, which never arrived.
The restroom facilities were very disappointing. The floor was flooded, and my dress got soaked – something that was not only inconvenient but also unhygienic. There was no tissue or hand wash available in the toilets, which added to the discomfort.
As for the food, it was average at best. The fish lacked seasoning, and the portion sizes were small considering the prices charged.
To top it all off, we were automatically charged a 15% service charge, which felt very unfair given the poor service we experienced.
The one positive note was the entrance, which was nicely designed and provided a good spot for pictures.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as the lounge has potential but desperately needs major improvements in service, hygiene, and overall...
