An Authentic Culinary Escape: Must-Try Mutton Thali Near Woolwich Arsenal I recently had the pleasure of visiting this authentic Nepalese establishment on a Friday afternoon for lunch. The timing was perfect; it was busy enough to have a pleasant buzz but quiet enough to enjoy a relaxed meal. From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was instantly inviting, complemented by good vibes and the unmistakable rhythm of Nepalese music playing softly in the background. To start, we ordered the Chatpate, paired perfectly with a refreshing Gurkha beer. The Chatpate was a triumph—a burst of authentic, vibrant flavour that was absolutely spot on. I could distinctly taste every ingredient, making for a truly flawless start to the meal. I honestly couldn't find a single fault with it. For the main course, we had our hearts set on the Mutton Thali. A crucial note for future diners: the Thali sets are prepared with care and require a significant wait time. If you’re in a rush, I highly recommend pre-ordering it to cut down on the wait. However, if you have time to spare, grab a few starters, sip your beer, and just soak up the excellent atmosphere. Thanks to my pre-order, the Thali arrived after a short, comfortable wait. The Thali itself was a comprehensive and perfectly balanced platter, featuring essential sides like flavourful gundruk ko achar, spicy tomato pickle, fresh salad, and crisp papad. The main components—lentils, spinach, and vegetable tarkari—created a wholesome combination. To top it off, it came with cooling yogurt and the sweet treat lalmohan. You can also request ghee for an extra touch of richness. While the whole meal was exceptional, the mutton was undeniably the highlight of the day. It was, without a doubt, one of the best mutton dishes I have ever had in the UK. Given its fantastic quality and the restaurant’s convenient location right by Woolwich Arsenal station, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable dining experience. I even tried to visit again on another day, but due to a lively private event, I chose to wait for a quieter time. I am certainly looking forward to going back to sample more of their...
