Crouch End was most definitely lacking a good Afghan restaurant and I'm pleased that this has popped up.

8 of us went for dinner on the weekend and all of us left with bellies bursting!

The food is cooked to order which does mean a decent wait time if you order a karhai. The lamb takes 40 minutes to cook and the chicken 25. For this reason we ordered the chicken. If they had indicated timing on the menu we could have ordered ahead of time or as soon as we sat down.

The chicken though was absolutely delicious! You have a choice of how much heat you want in it. Very flavorful

We also ordered the lamb mantu (dumplings), aushak (leek dumplings), badenjan burani(eggplant dish with yogurt) chapli kebabs, qabuli rice with lamb shank and lamb neck. All the food was really delicious and the naan was fluffy and hot. Chapli kabab is one of my favorite dishes and this will bring me back!

The restaurant itself felt a little crowded because they've crammed a lot of seating.

Pacing of the food could also be a little bit better. All of our food arrived at the exact same time and we ran out of table space.

Lots of vegetarian food options and they are happy to accommodate requests such as leaving the yogurt off the dumplings for my daughter who is intolerant to dairy.

Overall the quality of the food and the flavor was great and I look forward to...

A Hidden Gem in Hornsey: Kabana Delivers Authentic Afghan Flavours

Kabana has quickly become our go-to spot for those nights when you want to gather the whole family around one table without breaking the bank. What sets this Afghan restaurant apart is their incredible ability to accommodate large family dinners. The moment you step in, you are greeted with warmth that makes you feel like you're visiting old friends. The welcoming atmosphere perfectly complements the friendly staff who genuinely seem to care about your dining experience. Kabana has so many wonderful dishes including their fantastic lamb biryani which is absolutely mouth-watering. What really impressed us was how child-friendly they are. They genuinely create an environment where families can relax and enjoy themselves.

Kabana offers exceptional value. The combination of delicious food, friendly staff, and good value makes this place a real winner. Whether you're planning a large family celebration or just craving authentic Afghan cuisine, Kabana delivers...

KABANA is a lovely place and a great addition to Hornsey High Str. We visited it on a Saturday evening and had some lovely vegetarian dishes. The hummus and aubergine dip (stew) were delicious and fresh, the aubergine was flavoursome, rich and by far our favourite dish of the night;) We also tried ashak - veggie dumplings filled with leak & served with a topping of lentils - they were very tasty, the dough was just perfect. Our rice with spinach was a surprise - the portion was very (!) generous, the rice itself was perfectly cooked and seasoned! So good! We also really enjoyed the homemade coriander and chili dips and delicious flat bread. The atmosphere of the restaurant is casual and friendly, the hosts welcomed us as if we were good friends and we had an interesting chat about the food. It really made the evening special:) Thank you KABANA for a lovely experience, we look forward to coming back for an evening of...

Kabana: A New Afghan Delight in Hornsey, Haringey. Kabana, a recently opened Afghan restaurant, came highly recommended by a friend, and it certainly lived up to the hype. The atmosphere is lovely, creating a welcoming and comfortable space to enjoy a meal. I ordered the Lamb Tikka Kebab, which was absolutely delicious. The lamb was tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The accompanying bread was fresh and tasty, and the salad was a delightful complement to the dish. Everything was well-prepared and presented. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. It's clear that Kabana is a great addition to the Hornsey food scene. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Afghan cuisine in a pleasant setting.
