Kaspa's Catford — Restaurant in London

Normally i would love an evening at kaspas with my friends, until my visit the other day which was horrendous.Me and around 6 of my friends went to kaspas after school for my friends birthday and once we got to kaspas it seemed normal, we sat down at our table ordered our food like normal, the same song was on repeat for like 7 times but it’s okay i can’t really complain about that.But next you realise that we were sat at our table for around 15 minutes waiting for our food and once my one of my friend’s waffle had come it came LUKEWARM AND UNCOOKED, the waffle was clearly soggy at the bottom and tasted a bit sour.The rest of us carried on waiting for our food for about 10 minutes later,i normally order an oreo waffle, so that’s the decision i went with, there was barely any oreo bits on top and the white chocolate sauce on top came melted and cold as if it had been already made and left to be cold,the waffle was also uncooked tasted a bit off and i found two hairs,one inside the waffle and one on the plate(different coloured hairs to mine and my friends).For all my other friends that had waffles also had them uncooked and cold.One of my other friends ordered a mango sundae, also to find 3 hairs deeply buried in the ice cream, a mysterious green liquid(looked like mould)and black dots in the sundae.I can say that after we left kaspas we complained to the staff, who seemed unbothered and careless also one of them saying ‘they’re taking the piss’ underneath their breath,not helping us or anything.After leaving and arriving home, we all felt sick and one of my friends ended up being sick.As for me,i had stomach ache the whole next day and felt completely sick.As for that, that day was the worst day i’ve ever experienced at kaspas, as they’re normally completely fine, but if you’re willing to be served cold, hairy and uncooked food, Kaspas...

I used to go here with relative frequency when it opened and it was lovely. I came back today and the customer service was appalling.

There has evidently been a set of new staff employed in the last few years.

My orders were wrong and when the error was pointed out, the staff refused to acknowledge the error.

They also prioritised serving customers from their own ethnic background (Asian) despite me and others being in line first.

When my food arrived, it was cold and chewy, not crisp and fresh like the waffles they used to serve here and the cutlery that was wrapped in tissue was dirty and had what I think was dried syrup caked onto it...

The staff locked the disabled/baby changing toilets and caused my son (who has special needs) to wet himself because they did not want to provide me with the key so he could use it as they said that toilet is staff only.

If it staff only, there should not be a sign depicting that it is for disabled and baby changing use.

I had to ask a second member of staff for the key and said you are going to make him wet himself and all other loos are occupied - for reference, my son is 4 and each toilet has 1 loo in it.

The lady very slowly opened the draw and reluctantly gave me the key whilst staring me down disapprovingly.

I will never come here again. Kaspas needs to properly vett the staff they employ because this treatment is totally unacceptable.

If I could have given 0 stars I would have.

Avoid...

I come here on a regular basis and have known this place since it first reopened back in 2012 (where I was in secondary school -year 7 😂😂). And now I’m 24, juggling a Master’s Degree and working, thinking of what the future holds…

Anyways, I normally order the their waffles and it’s always the best with the white chocolate sauce and strawberries and bananas.

Coming here either on a Tuesday or Wednesday (or sometimes both 🤭), whereas today, a Wednesday, I ordered a kinder bueno kunafa stack , and it was so lovely because it was sweet, the sauce was expensive in terms of taste, and the cake was very well soft 👌🏾.

Lastly, I can’t help how these workers here always look after me because they know I’m a regular comer, so must treat me right, and also when I ordered a banana ice cream today, they added a mini biscuit waffle to it, which was so lovely and astonishing 😄.

In addition, their mocha too is also excellent and when you add whip cream to it, it was so amazing that it taste like a dessert 🤩. Their waffle with Oreo’s and white chocolate just slaps too hard, and I always add pouring cream with my waffles which is just too good!
