Kayla's Bar & Kitchen — Restaurant in London

Wow we were looking forward to this night. We had a birthday entourage of 15 people. When i went to the bar to order drinks the bar lady was so rude, she has short coily blue/green hair. Told us she was going to serve a Chapman in disposable red cups, i politely asked why, she answered back with an attitude whilst walking away, told us there were no clean glasses available and this was just after 9pm, me and my sister just looked at each other amazed with bad customer treatment/interaction. I said it was ok to serve us in the red disposable. So she proceeded to put ice and filled the whole cup to the top with ice and we expressed we only want half of the ice in the cup or lower. She was disputing us that it is served like that and i told her are we not allowed to make a choice. Her facial expressions were not pleasant. Anyways food came late but most orders got mixed up. Food was very mediocre, the beef with yam was so rubbery we had to send it back to the kitchen. We were given another one. Fried fish/tilapia was like drowning in a stew of mixed peppers 😥. Every one kept asking for salt, no salt whatsoever in the food. We requested Maggi liquid, non available. It was so difficult to get salt and our 3 tables had to share 1 salt shaker! Food was beyond bland. Bar staff too rude. Everyone from our group wont be going back there and we like supporting our own but very let down. To top all of this we had a cake displayed for us on a cake stand same as other people who were also celebrating birthdays in there. We sang happy birthday song, time to cut the cake. We was denied serving cake in there but when booking was made they were aware of the cake, even displayed it for us. Didn't make sense. We are all very upset with this place, shud have gone to Nandos or KFC instead of these disappointments. This is my 1st time leaving a review. Only good thing there was...

I have been going to this place over 5years and it's due for review. I enjoy coming here alone, with friends, family to dine, dance, sing. This place is beautiful in and out, friendly staff and owner. The food is superb to your choice but sometimes can differ in flavour due to change in chef. Price is affordable and the food are worth it. If you have patient, your food might take long to come but at least it's guarantee well cooked. Good choice of drinks. Toilet is clean, you can watch your event from the TV like premier league or world cup or any other events on TV. I love to come here at night as I enjoy the DJ cool selection of latest music (Afrobeat). You vibe with other people, the vibe and atmosphere in lively. You can plan birthday or any party style of your choice here by booking ahead and best believe you will enjoy it. The staff are nice and make you comfortable, the owner is extremely humble, nice. There is security in the place to keep order. I love the fact that it's open till late and alternative to a club. I had fish and plantain with fried yam my fish was burnt, the yam was so hard couldn't eat it. The food was not freshly made tasted horrible didn't even eat it, I last went to this place before lockdown when the food was nice. I would never come back utter waste of time and money. The service staff are extremely rude the lady came to us chewing loudly and not looking at us with such an attitude and say what do you want. After ordering the person I was with ordered a bottle of water which she said I will bring your water when the food comes out. Not sure why she took it upon herself to make that decision anyway when the horrible food came out we didn't bother asking for the water. When the bill came the water was included and asked why it's there she proceeded to roll her eyes and say ohh. I told them how disappointing the food was she didn't seem to care.
