Would ideally give 0 stars. The first thing that was worrying about my experience at Kitchen was an oversized and very poorly written menu, an array of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. Some items have a theme of 'funny' names, others don't There is no consistency in the writing of the menu. From there is only got worse. We all orderd sanwiches/paninis. We noticed you could swap fries for curly fries on the burger section of the menu, not stated on the sandwich section admitidly. We asked if we could all swap our 'complimentry' fries with curly fries. We were told that this wasn't an option. When we questioned this we simply got back a rude "you can't". We offered to pay a small supplement for these if cost difference was the issue. We could not. Eventually we just ordered two portions of curly fries as an extra. I also orderd extra bacon and red onion in my toasted sandwich. When the dishes arrived we got our two extra portions of curly fries, minus the complimentry normal fries. My extra bacon and red onion was just piled on the side of the plate. I said to the waitress that I would have preferred the extra fillings to actually be fillings. I received a snappy "you didn't tell me you wanted them in the sandwich" I didn't realise when ordering a sandwich with extra fillings you had to specifically as for them as fillings. Once the bill had arrived, we had all had enough. We were charged for two full portion of curly fries and full price for sandwiches. Even though our dishes were minus the extras stated on the menu. I will never return here and would advise people to steer clear unless you want a dish as written (badly) on the menu and you don't mind slightly rude...
Read moreOMG I couldn't disagree more with the first review from Jason and suggest maybe it was some teething issues. My experience at Kitchen West Wickham today was outstanding. Menu has lots of variety and staff happy to suggest swaps or modifications to make it exactly what you want. I've been made to feel valued and staff have gone out of there way to make my experience a great one. My meal came super quick but thoroughly prepared. Tasty and presented well and a big portion, so much so a doggy bag was needed. The decor and environment is modern, funky and well thought out but they haven't done what so many contemporary start ups do and slap big prices on their menu. In fact they have done the opposite. 99% of Kitchens evening meal menu is under a tenner and all drinks are well under the price of anywhere else on the high street. Well done & thank you everyone at Kitchen West Wickham for great customer experience. I'll definitely be back and will bring friends and family...
Read moreWe popped into Kitchen for some breakfast as we were passing through West Wickham. We were appalled by the service and ended up in an argument with the manager over our bill. We understood from the menu that all breakfast items came with a tea or coffee, so we both ordered two teas. To our surprise a pot of tea was added to the bill, so we kindly asked if it could be removed as the menu stated tea was included. The waitress told us a pot of tea was extra and we needed to pay for it. A pot of tea (with one tea bag) is £2.40, a 'mug' of tea for one is £1.20 so we argued that we have had the equivalent amount of tea. The manager did not agree with this and insisted we paid for the tea. It's only £2.40 but the response from the manager was appalling, and considering it's only one tea bag and some hot water, she could have seen where we were coming from and deducted it from the bill. Very poor customer service, we will not be returning and treated...
