Indian Diner — Restaurant in London

I have changed my review form a 5 star to a one.

Use to come hear quite often but it has been getting really bad. valentines before last (2016) was perfect other than Christmas music being played.....

This valentines (2018)

Booked over the internet for the banquet night as it said “any Tuesday and weds” got in and was just pointed to a table.

Was left for about 30 mind until I asked if I can order drinks. Was half way through ordering and the water just suddenly walked away and went to the kitchen then came back about 5 mins later to take order.

Drinks were pretty much thrown on the table and split as the water was rushing so much.

Same order process with the food but was told “were not doing the banquet night” after arguing that nothing was advertised differently,we were allowed to order, and the food came out dry and well over done make everyone cough almost like mustard gas going off in the restaurant.

It seemed the restaurant was understaffed and rather the staff taking it in their stride, it was just pure manic all of them were sweating, walking too fast or even running and walking in to each other or arguing

You could just watch the waiters bounce round from table to table leaving people either annoyed or amused at what was like a clown show.

Wonder it if was because it was valentines night and we were a same sex couple but it seemed that we were just forgotten about for a good 1 hr

Although I cannot deny the food was tasty (though I can't say as tasty as some have raved on about in their reviews), the customer service unfortunately lets this place down in a big way. We were a family of 5 and upon arriving, the waiter looked as if he didn't even want to seat us although the restaurant was nearly empty? Throughout our dining all the waiters bar one looked miserable and seemed as if it was an inconvenience to serve us. One waiter I'm sure was giving me dirty looks as though I had done him something?? I honestly was bemused by this as I smiled upon arrival, tried to make small talk, and really shouldnt the effort should be the other way round?? I will not be going back to be made to feel so uncomfortable. There are other restaurants that are just as tasty with much better friendly customer service. Oh and they also overcharged us, with which we couldn't be...

Appalling service from this restaurant, which led them to give 2 pregnant customers alcoholic drinks even though we asked for mocktails and checked they were virgin upon being served, and we showed them the menu upon ordering to highlight non alcoholic. You’d think our bumps would have given it away as well. We also checked for a second time upon the first sip. The server found it funny when we received the bill and noticed we had been charged for, and served alcohol despite all these checks. They would not waiver the drinks, and they made a joke asking us “do you feel tipsy”. Absolutely appalling....
