For me these were some of the worst Italian dishes I have eaten anywhere. We ordered the 'Sallapa Pizza' and the 'Lasagna Al Forno'.
Both dishes arrived extremely quick (approx. 5') which was a first hint because it is practically impossible to have pizza or lasagna that quick and fresh (okay for a real stone-oven baked pizza it might be doable, as they only need 60-90 seconds in the oven, but not in these circumstances).
The pizza itself was much like the ones you might bight frozen from your local supermarket. Taste-wise it was okay, but unfortunately it was only lukewarm.
The real disaster here was the 'Lasagna Al Forno' - it was just bland. Unfortunately, there were more issues. While the plate was piping hot, the lasagna itself was only hot on the edges and just about lukewarm in the middle - strong indication that it has been microwaved. Then there was not much of a layered feeling to it, instead there was on thick layer of dough on the top, sprinkled with some minced meet and a very strange tomato sauce on the side. The whole dish just did not come together and looked more like it was put together of single components - certainly nothing Italian about it. Typically this lasagna is baked in the oven, hence the name 'al forno' (which gives it some crispiness at the top) and made with a ragu alla bolognese.
While I understand most restaurants do not make Lasagna fresh-to-order, there are better ways of doing it - or please take it of the menu if you cannot do it.
Certainly, we will not go back to this place, and I cannot understand the positive reviews here - unless you have never...
Read moreWe came here for the first time today. What an absolute let down. We were welcomed by someone holding a cup of coffee who I don't even know if they worked there or not. If you are an Italian restaurant then at least one person should be Italian. The only Italian people in there were us visiting!! They had no larger beer. At that point I was already ready to walk out. We planned on having a pizza and birra but that wasn't possible. We decided to give the place a go anyway. We decided to order the margarita pizza as we thought it was probably the one thing they couldn't possibly get wrong. Unfortunately they managed to get that wrong big time. For starters when it arrived all I could smell was garlic. It's a margarita pizza. It should only have tomato sauce and mozzarella on top. The pizza base was made all wrong. It was more of a biscuit. Considering I only ate half of my pizza I'm still having trouble digesting it. We really had high hopes for this place. If you like proper traditional Italian food I would not...
Read moreTo many tables for one waiter/dishwasher and the food was so dissapointing.
We got the bruschetta as a starter it was okay, but too much balsamico and pesto that overtook the taste.
Then we got the lasagna and spaghetti aglio e olio.
The ingredients in spaghetti aglio e olio is chili, garlic, olive oil and parsley. It was made so spicy that the chili completely overtook any taste at all. The pasta itself was clearly the cheapest you can get from a supermarket and the serving size was for a child. Costed around 14£.
The lasagna was so bland and only the tomato sauce was present in flavour.
To the lasagne we got the choice of chips or salad, we chose the chips even though we thought that was weird to offer with lasagna. The chips was not salted and not crisp at all and clearly also the cheap ones you can buy in ana supermarket.
Super dissapointing overall experience and the drinks and dessert we had planned to order before we left home was never ordered as we just paid and left right after the...
